Can we cut Edin a break?

Also cyprus, I never said Mancini was going, and I said we had an agreement with RVP going back to last December. And we did. PB will also be able to back up that claim as he got the same info off the same people.

And don't call me son, flower.

ok treacle...but you was tellin everyone mancini was dead man walkin and tellin everyone van persie was done n dusted ...you made yourself look silly...sometimes its better to hold fire rather than talk about what you dont know xx im sometimes guilty of speakin rashly myself so we are neither innocent on that score
I never said Mancini was a dead man walking at all. You are confusing me with the cabal. I had no idea what was going on but I was happy at the prospect of Jose coming seeing as it looked like we had just thrown the towel in. Something I wouldn't want to swap right now, but certainly for a week or so though I claimed no knowledge of what was happening.

ok im going to spell it out in 2 sentences

you said mancini was sacked

you said van persie was a man city player

how much more wrong can you be? seriously ? and that negates any viewpoint you can have in my eyes ...you saying mario is better than edin is like you saying mancini was sacked ,your views have been hugely wrong and i dont see them being right anytime soon ...

still love you though brother and like you as a guy

-- Wed Sep 05, 2012 11:43 am --

45 pages and yet the biggest problem for me is that you have mixed your metaphors in the thread title.

You cut someone some slack or give someone a break.

Don't make me tell you again.

love that xx

Pmsl. Yes there are lots.

Ok who? He's only 26, he scores one goal every 2 games (even at international level for a team that rarely finishes 1st or 2nd in its qualifying group), makes a load of assists has won 2 of 4 major titles. Lots would imply at least 10, so surely you could name at least 5. If you really think those stats are all greatly outweighed by about 3 horrendous touches to each 10 then personally I don't see it that way.

sweeps a fan of mario and barry its obvious...its not important whats best for the team as long as he is proved right.....which happens less and less nowadays
Where have I been proven wrong?

And what is best for the team is having the best players, but apparently you think you know better than our manager, which is interesting.

As for being a fan of Balotelli, you are making that up. I rate Tevez and Aguero ahead of Balotelli but put Balotelli ahead of Edin. It's not rocket science so you should be able to keep up.

Cyprustavern's initial response was a reply to me asking you to name "lots" of better target men poachers than Edin but I can't see that you've made that list anywhere?

I completely understand having a preference between Balo and Edin, both are inarguably talented players, probably not outside the top 10/15 strikers in the world overall. But if I was going to say "lots" of other players are better than players in Balo's mould, then I'd have a pretty substantial and well-reasoned list to support that claim, otherwise "pmsl there are lots" would be sort of an empty response.

I never said he was sacked in the slightest. I started an ill advised thread about 2 mins after the Arsenal match when pissed saying he should walk. The only time I questioned Mancini during his time at the club.

I said re RVP that we had agreed personal terms with him back in December, which we had. Tevez then stayed and we didn't put in a serious bid due to not needing to.

What you are doing is building a strawman. Your argument is fallacious.

Tell me why you think we turned down a £40m bid for Mario in the summer and play him ahead of Edin if the club don't think he is better?

You have 4 absolutely top drawer strikers, and the debates will be endless

For the moment Aguero and Tevez are first choice by virtue of their goals and performance whilst Dzeko has moved up a peg because of the extra width with which we have been playing this season.

The Mario - Mancini dynamic does sort of twist these answers though. Even Mario's biggest fan couldn't argue he isn't Mancini's pet project. So essentially why did we turn down a 40m bid - Mancini. Why does he play - Mancini. Whether Mancini's right or not, that's another matter for debate (it's pretty easy to go either way - huge talented youngster, could be top 3 in the world / waste of time and effort, won't try or be disciplined and doesn't improve), but in terms of an answer to those questions you can't look further than one man.

you listened to pms from a few 'respected' posters about mancini...then you admitted you was wrong...you also swore blind van persie was coming ..and gave one poster dogs abuse about it...they are 2 facts (not a strawman argument...actual facts ..with written evidence somewhere in the annals of this sight) ..i dont know why mancini turned down 40 mill (if it was offered) he must be a father figure to mario...me i would sell him and buy cavani or falcao would you?

if you say no you must be more drunk than me..i would sell mario and barry for 45 million and buy replacements ...witsel for barry and ..falcao / cavani for mario might have to stick extra 10 mill on it though

Lot's of better CF's than Dzeko:

Cavani
Falcao
Balotelli (plays best when leading the line a la cup semi and final)
Drogba (still)
Ibra
Rooney (when played there as 29 goals attests last season)
Benzema
Gomez
Klose

Is Mario also Ancellottis pet? If not then why would they bid that?
