can we see some youth please

Unfortunately none of those players are anywhere near ready (if ever), the only young players that would warrant a start are out on loan.

This is true. If they weren't out on loan but "on call" for the first team it would affect our ffp position, double edged sword.

How do you know they're not ready if they're never played? Why do we afford the likes of Fernando, Dzeko, Navas, Nasri etc countless awful performances but never give any young players a chance?

We dont risk youth players. Our whole squad isnt built the way that could suit youth players. You cant put on a younger striker as a sub when you have bony/Dzeko on bench as strikers.

You cant put on a young RB to debut for 20 minutes when you have Sagna waiting on bench.

You cant put on a CM to debut if you have Milner, Fernandinho angrily waiting for playing time from bench.

We dont want to risk if one of our regular gets injured and not to have another international proven, experienced player to come in look at the full back duos we have.
But that comes with the fact we wont be able to really risk youth.

And also we fear that maybe those younger ones will cost us in the games. Certainly under pressure their lack of experience could cost us. But its really a no risk no win business with youth players.

whereas all these millionaire players on the subs bench are just winning us trophies for fun as usual

and are so exciting to watch too

Aston Villa are following that policy for a couple of seasons and have been mostly involved in a relegation scrap. And going off the performance in the Youth Cup final none of the currently lot look ready for first team action.

Maybe judging our players off of one performance isn't the best measure of talent?

It was men against boys in that game, There have been times this season in the youth games where you would question whether they are ready. The Hamburg friendly was another occasion.

As much as I wish this to happen, it won't. Pellegrini has passed up opportunities where giving a youth lad a run about off the bench multiple times this season. Our first team is full of experienced players who want first team football and so he will always resort to them. Hopefully, the summer clearout that's rumoured will allow some room for Academy players to come through next season.

Personally, my biggest fear is that we are just going to buy our youth in this summer and basically ignore our EDS players. We have Pozo, Rekik returning and Lopes returning and would love to see them play some part next season.
