can we see some youth please

Not gonna happen as it would take both bottle and innovation - neither are Pelle's strong points

Lopez has played 30 games this season for Lille and was the captain of the EDS.

If he isn't in the squad next year when people like Dzeko are then we can just forget it all. We'd obviously have no intention of blooding youth.

To be fair to Pellers he played Lopez on multiple occasions last season.

Actually his handling of Lopes was one of the blackest of black spots in the youth bracket.

He played him once to where he was Man of the Match, played him in the next game where he had a really poor match then never played him again. Didn't even put him on the bench.

Both Lopes and Pozo have had first team appearances where they did quite well (or very well in Rony's case) which allowed them to continue to be around the squad and as soon as they had a poor game they were completely shut out never to be seen again. This is a major barrier to the confidence of any of our young players coming through - not even the first team squad has the type of pressure where one bad performance will make the manager totally lose faith in you despite any other performances that you put in.

It's a trend that we absolutely have to address this summer through either a management change or by having to directly order Pellegrini to have a quota of youth players played per season which would be a highly drastic and destabilising thing to do.

Karim Rekik has just won the league as a near ever present and was considered for the FULL Dutch team for the last World Cup. He's classed as a player homegrown at City.

He will absolutely definitely be leaving despite being one of the hottest defensive prospects in Europe at the moment, and he'll leave on a free simply because we have refused for three seasons running to give him a shot in the first team squad and kept loaning him to other Champions League/Europa League first team squads instead to the point where has basically said "well fuck you then"

Our approach is frustrating, but now is not the time to play youth. Whilst the likes of Barker/Angelino/Pozo should maybe have been given Carling Cup game time they still have to prove ability at the lower level. Nowhere near ready for PL/FA Cup.

The figures that should be in the match day squad IMO are Lopes, Rekik, and Denayer, starting from next season. For me, Angelino, Barker, or anyone else worthy of stepping up should be loaned out as I think it's the first time we've seen measured success from our loanees. Usually they've gone to a local side like Oldham and never come back. Get them to Scotland/Spain/Holland/France in the top tier and we'll see them come back better for the experience if they are good enough.

Aside from Angelino though (and possibly Barker), is there anyone good enough and strong enough (yet) to promote?

Lopes, Rekik and Denayer are good enough to be in the squad today replacing Jovetic, Boyata and Demichelis.

Barker could be a useful player to have on the bench when we need a bit of legs and directness.

That's 4 immediately.

Damocles is right on this one.

Our use and treatment of younger players has been awful since the takeover.

Of this doesn't change, with FFP, we will struggle.

We are paying the likes of Sagna £100k a week and the same for Kolorov to be effectively back up players. Surely it would make more sense to have some younger players in the squad and free up wages for more quality in the side.

Lopes had a great game at West Ham but wasn't so good against Watford and was then basically dropped completely. It doesn't send out a great message.

I think he's good enough to replace Boyata and he isn't winning trophies in Holland and getting called up to internationals for no reason. He's a good defender who isn't a great defender but could potentially be.

More importantly, he's Club trained
