Can we surpass last season?

Those eighteen wins on the run were the absolute backbone of last season and that’s one record I can’t imagine seeing broken.

Have to agree with this unfortunately! There were some real gutsy wins in that streak to keep the run going, if anyone breaks it though it will be this team imo

Win the next 6 - 21 points plus. 69 points needed to get 90. (That will win it)

That’s 23 wins 0 draws and 8 defeats. No problem.

It’s all over folks.

From the brilliant IMO football365:

City most likely won’t get 100 points again this year, but how likely is it that they get less than 90? Honestly, I think they could actually be better than last year. Mendy looks like a monster, Bernardo has gone up a level, and they have a whole extra season together playing under Pep. Add in the fact that Aguero, Sane, Silva, Stones, Kompany and Jesus all missed multiple games, so teams must feel like they need 95 points minimum to realistically feel like they have a title shot. Only two teams in the premier league era have ever done that, so that has got to feel prett daunting.

We may not get 100, but I think the top 6 will take more points off each other, so it might be easier to win, even with less points.
I think we need to play more pragmatically against Liverpool. I saw an article about Pep at Barca, can't remember which game, but his instructions were to pass the ball about aimlessly, stifle them, bore them, don't attempt to play football, don't even go into the final third. They didn't listen and conceded.

I know Pep is a huge idealist and would rather lose in the right way than win in the wrong way, but I think drawing against Liverpool at Anfield would be a real marker, and at the worst, tire them out for their next games.

I really do understand what your saying Blue. .but for me..it's time to smash red scouse in their own backyard..Go out and play.battle the odds ,the bent ref, the anfield roar etc...
And win.
Imo.

City are improving every year under pep, we play liverpool at anfield soon when we will be much fresher than last season. If we beat them i can see us running away with the prem again.
I also think city are primed to win the champions league if we can stay injury free.

The football looks like it's going up another gear though. Bernardo, Mendy and Mahrez slotting in brilliantly so far with the expectations on them.
