Can't Wait for The Summer Departure of...

and I want to add:

if Balo or Ade was wronging what was wrong today by Tevez they were massacred on the forum.

too many fans here are too in love with the fucking work rate , football is something well other the simple work rate.

2nd in the league(on goal diff) and you want our top goal scorer to leave i'm stunned, works his balls off in most games did u not see him rob the defender at Newcastle and roll Barry in, ok he had a poor day in front of goal today by his standards but to slate him to the extent of wanting him out of the club is madness. One of the best players i've seen in a sky blue shirt it will be a sad day when he leaves for sure.

Fickle isn't the word for some on here.
Perhaps if our midfield started weighing in with more goals then there may be less pressure on Carlos to carry us as a goal threat. Silva in particular has been very disappointing in front of goal. His finishing has been desperately poor given some of the sitters he has wasted this season. But as he is the new darling of the fans, he gets no criticism while Carlos, who is now a pantomime villain for some, gets slated. Same with Johnson, whose selfishness in good attacking positions often leads to nothing more than an Englebert Humperdink chorus from the South Stand. Milner hasn't even looked like scoring for us, though he did a good job when he came on today.
To blame our top scorer for others routinely failing in front of goal is unfair

If there were a 'Premier League Player of 2010' Award, Carlos Tevez would walk it.

There is nobody to touch him for consistent performances over that period. That isn't hyperbole either.

Therefore, imo, to paint him as a negative for the performances of the team is just not on.

And, and this is only my opinion, it smacks of trying to be too clever.

(I'm sure that isn't the case with most of these posts, but it does come across that way to me)

Good point, Mancio. Work rate is fine to a degree, but it shouldn't mask the truth!!

And JM'sW, I like Balo, but I'm not that over the top about him. I do know, however, that he brings people into play a lot.

I'm not saying that Tévez doesn't, but Balotelli will work off rebounds if he has to. That's because he's not the focus of play but also plays like the 'false 9' that people say Tévez does.

You cannot deny that we're more expansive right through the team without him now, cos they all know their roles.

That changes when Tévez plays and it shouldn't be like that.

Don't always agree with you Bigga, but this time I think you are spot on.

This is not a pro or anti Tevez thread at all, it is about our team maximising itself to its full potential. This is not a one man team.

I wasn't really referring to you over Balo.

You should read the thread more closely, rather than jump posts, cos this has been noted about the contribution of others. I cannot fault Silva cos he tends to try the more difficult things as he's often not given the chance to tap it in(such as the same opportunity today, Non? Who went for goal at an acute again...? Oh yeah...).

AJ has learned a lesson from Mancini. When to shoot/ when to pass. Today, I couldn't fault his choices on the pitch.

Yaya is also one of those mids you complain about not contributing enough. He drives our mid, is unselfish about his choices, for the most part, but is not often chosen by Tévez, when in the better position.

Three other supporting acts overlooked for the most part.

Sorry, but that's the truth.

Can't agree with any of this.

What he gives to the team in terms of retaining possession, offering an outlet and winning possession back (and that is before you consider his on the ball work and goals) is worth 100 times any negatives in terms of sometimes being slightly selfish.

I think sometimes people don't appreciate what they have until they don't have it any more.

This.

The comment about him ruining the free-flowing team play is so untrue, I'm very reluctant to address it.

Just like Yaya Toure does, when Tevez runs with the ball directly at the defence, he opens up a world of options. I think it's bang on to criticise him when he picks one of the wrong options or decides to shoot, but to say he is the antithesis of our slick football is nonsense, especially when he is the vanguard of it.

This is strange really as I've said in the past, even when he was scoring at a rate quicker than 99% of world football, that he, as an individual player is limited. I argued that his lack of pace over a long distance as well as his lack of presence aerially would expose him in any other team in the world. But, as it stands, he is perfectly suited to the football we play here. Without him, I think we would create far less chances, and be a lot easier to break down. To get rid of Carlos would be an enormous loss for both him and us.

If you are pissed off about the transfer request, then fair enough, but to criticise him over what he brings to the team is just ludicrous.
