Car driving standards

There seems to be a certain age group that feel "safe" sat in the middle lane at 60 mph , they stay out of lane one, don't want to be dealing with those lorries etc. But don't want to be lane 3 with the perceived speeders so middle lane is just right for staying out of the way ! Electric vehicles don't help either most have their optimum range between the speeds of 60 and 70 mph on the motorway so they all sit at 60 mph middle lane eeking out their range, feeling smug cos they are green and helping the environment.
And the police do absolutely nothing… unless I’ve just not seen it happen

We have the worst lane discipline and overall driving standards in this country. I drove a lot in Europe and I’ve driven regularly in the US but we’re the worst drivers by a country mile.. Does my nut in

When I first started to drive in Europe I used to think we were ok in comparison and that the likes of the Italians and Belgians were awful on motorways. Now though we are at least as bad.

What is it about 4 lane motorways that makes people drive like numpties?

Both are as shite as each other. The Horsfall home of Bradford Cemetary Road is a joke of a ground.
I was there to watch Hereford who I’ve followed since the mid 90’s. The pitch was plastic, IIRC.

Lovely day out as it goes. Good pasta in Zizzis and pints in The City Vaults. A huge Bradford City fan called Trevor offered me a seat and we talked for a good hour. Mark Hughes manages them now!

Over time I've come to realise that driving sensibly in Ireland is a skill. Nothing like a coastal road with grass in the middle and a dry stone wall separating you from a drop into the sea, with some young lad in a souped up Skoda driving right up your arse.

PS you can see this car has never been to liverpool

But what is under taking ?

I drive happily doing 70mph on the inside lane because I'm not over talking anyone and the lane is empty. Than after a few miles I come up to someone doing 60mph in the middle lane.

Am I meant to change to the middle lane than the outside lane go pass them, than move back into the middle lane than into the left hand lane ?. That to me seems dangerous moving across all those lanes.
My understanding of the highway code is, if the inside lane is moving faster than the land on your right it is ok to pass the middle lane. I'm not undertaking I havent changed lanes to go passed on the left hand side. Just my lane is going faster than the middle or 3rd land.
I think you’re actually supposed to move to lane 3 to overtake them then move back to lane 1. Middle lane hoggers are the absolute worst. I burn their retinas out with a bit of full beam until they move.

I'm currently sat in Sheffield childrens hospital intensive care unit with my daughter who was hit last night.

I'm absolutely heartbroken as to that I seen when I got to the site....bodies everywhere and my daughter unconscious face down being helped by locals.

All the people were making there way back into the village after the fair had shut and then hit.

Can't get that image out of my head it's killing me.

I hope she and the others recover well. Bastid drunk drivers. My 9 and 11 year old cousins were killed, and my aunt crippled for life being hit by one on a zebra crossing many years ago.

Actually, maybe here is a place to ask advice. On my daily dog walk, I often pass a bloke in his 20's, sat chilling on a bench, headphones on and always with a spliff in his hand. He appears to have several over a period of time.
No problem with that whatsoever .... apart from he then gets in his car and drives off.
I don't like the idea of grassing, but then drug driving is no different to drink driving, and I am sure if any of us saw someone necking from a vodka bottle, we wouldn't hesitate.... I mean what if he goes on to do something like the twunt who killed my cousins did?
