Anyone who heads back towards the Mancunian Way would be mad to park in the Blue car park anyway. Just park on the industrial estate behind what was the Mercedes garage. It's cheaper and you get away much quicker.
If you're not in a rush (don't see why you would be on a Saturday afternoon), why not park somewhere like Sale Waterpark and jump on the tram? If you're fit enough, get a train into Piccadilly and walk from there?
There are loads of options, but we're very overreliant on cars.
There was a two hour queue for the tube at Seven Sisters after the Spurs match on Sunday and no overground rail services because of engineering. Luckily I jumped on a bus to King's Cross after waiting about 30 minutes. It's not just Manchester. Britain seems to specialise in sub-standard infrastructure.Of course, no trams through Victoria this weekend (last I heard).

The new development looks like it's going to be a Gregg's outlet. At least another 50 car spaces not going to be available anymore.ASDA car park capacity is well down. A big chunk taken up by the new Starbucks and now another new development is taking up a lot of space.
