Cardiff (FA Cup 4th Rd ) Post Match Thread

The one at palace was a terrible one..im not sure it was malicious though.it was a desperate last minute foul to stop us counter attacking.
Still reckless and a red though.
The other ones mentioned I think the players may have actually intentionally tried to do our players.
The Harry Kane one maybe was just mistimed, the other ones like today though were disgusting.
Over the ball challenge in to planted leg.
That lad today could of just tripped Sanes lead leg like most players do.
I'm fuming with it still.

Personally, I think you are letting Kane off, too much. There was a double movement and he stretched in studs up.
He was stopping Sterling, come hell or high water.

Agreed - both could do with a goal or two to boost confidence.
They will get goals no doubt but the performance level is what really matters to midfielders and by the look of it they are getting there. Most midfielders get as much joy from assists as from goals anyway...

Watching the replay of the tackle on Sane, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a hairline fracture from the bend of his leg. Appalling tackle, appalling refereeing.

Agreed........that thug Bennett needs tracking down..

Like diving any tackle like todays has to be reviewed and either a yellow upgraded to a red after the event or if no card was issued, a retrospective red issued.
They can actually do that now. They changed the rules at the start of the 2013/14 season. The following is the rule.
If the match report requests a review or the disciplinary board decides to take action the matter is referred to a panel of three former elite referees.
They each review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they considered it a sending-off offence.
For an FA charge to follow, the decision by the panel must be unanimous.

Sadly I think Mason would need to request a review!

Which wont happen because it would take integrity in him saying he has made a wrong call or if he does request it, its only because he has been asked to by his bosses as they look to ban certain players from certain games.

I agree. Kane’s was as bad as Ali’s for me. Both red cards. None given.

The worst thing for me is the fact a professional football player would intentionally do that knowing how severe the consequences could be.

I am sick of it. Sick of seeing our players targeted. Skilful players will get pissed off playing in this league if it is allowed to continue.

I was that concerned with their tactics today and the lack of action (The tackle on Kun was a potential ankle breaker too) that I wanted Pep to sub De Bruyne regardless of what effect it would have on the game.

Still fuming now. Dirty ****s

Nobody at the BBC questioning why we played 100 passes in our own half sideways with 30 minutes to go. It is obvious we had to protect our own players at the expense of the spectacle. They should be calling that out.

This will probably come across horribly but we needed that game. Players like Gundo & Bernardo needed to get kicked and pulled for 90 minutes to realise they aren't made of glass and they need to be physical sometimes.

Gundo will be a much better player for this now that he knows every kick won't lead to a year out and the only silver lining to Sane missing a couple of weeks is Bernardo seems to be where Sane was last year...took a bit to get going but we've started to see the consistency emerge in recent weeks. Good timing going into the final 3rd of the season.

Heck even Brahim will have gained from that game in his short cameo.

Job well done today. Absolutely shambolic refereeing performance, he completely lost it on that goal and never recovered. Unsuprising from that muppet.
