Holistic football = No fucking change whatsoever.
We will be lucky if we finish fourth if we continue to play a high defensive line with our current playing staff.
The Arsenal friendly game was definitely a sign of things to come. The high line is going to kill us.
YaYa, Garcia, Lescott, Hart and especially Cliche and Zaballeta just aren't up to it.

The high line wasn't the problem. It was the lack of pressing the ball by everyone and our utter lack of defending corners. MP wan't to play the high line system. We can't play that system for 1 game then play the old drop deep because Vinnie is out and then go back to the high line a couple games later etc... That's not gonna work. For the team to get better at the system we need to be consistent and play the same way game to game so the players get confortable with it. Changing back and forth will only make it worse.

Re: Player Responsibility

We saw this last season, particularly on the road. Too many times it seems the game plan is for one of our 'stars' to work some individual magic and the game is won. We have the players to do it, but we never give teams enough to think about. Drive them back, don't let them catch their breath, and fuckin' well defend when yer need to. Think I'll email Manny, see if he needs me!

It can't be a coincidence that today was our worst performance since Southampton and it was also the first time since that game that Garcia and Lescott have started together at the back. We have got to either bring somebody else in or rush Kompany back because those two must never start together again. Imagine if Nastasic has another setback and we have to play them both in the derby against Van Persie? I'm almost literally shitting myself thinking about.

Wigan cup final was our nect worse

Yaya sat too deep.
I'd go as far to say that was his worst game in a City shirt.

I'm going to put myself through watching the whole game back tomorrow (it's something I always do and I find gives me a much better undertanding of what went on than just watching it live once) and I'm going to count the amount of times he gave the ball away. I might need an abacus.

Agreed.

He's on the phone getting Bobby in as defensive coach.
We would not have lost that with Mancini in charge, we have dropped a huge bollock

so Southampton away did not happen then last season?

Yes it did. But all of those other games where we went down and came back to gain points (and if I remember right we gained more points from behind than any other team in the PL year on year when Mancini was here) also happened.

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Need to rant..... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am gutted and deflated and its hard not to be! Maybe we were expecting to much after Monday and always knew today would be a hard game but can't believe that performance! I can honestly say I can take losing if we have left everything on the pitch but there were some woeful performances!!! Cardiff fair play took the chances on the corner but if we are going to win the league then we need to take points from places like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fucking 2 games in and already pissed off and hiding from any football!!!!!!!

Very disappointing. Thought we tried hard enough, but simply didn't show enough quality in midfield or up front. Too many sideways passes, not enough incisive play. Tempo was a huge problem again. All in all, far too reminiscent of last season.

On the plus side you'd think Pellegrini has now seen all our weaknesses at first hand.

Agreed.

Like Southampton away?

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

When players busy in glamourously life like fashions shows modeling , hanging around with girls, So how they can put their 100percent in the game, they are like celebrities, as messi said we are not celebrities . We are footballers with simple life style. In a spare time spend time with family rather then socialise like in England.

Today yaya silva were horrible . Use of navas is not logical with 1 player to head his volly, he always looking for player inside the box. He couldn't find anyone. City have spend 60 m on the front side 30 m on the mid side and 0 m on the defence that should be the first periority in this season, total senseless, if you want to achieve something then u need spend intelligently rather then filling players in one side of the team, lescot Garcia clichy hart need replacement, they need to know someone is behind them who can replace them permanently, also yaya as well , he is not very quick as he needs to be ...

I am again asking city to buy di Maria who have pace and skills and competition to silva nasri Milner and navas , I always rate him above silva and nasri coz he is a Real Madrid player playing along side messi and Ronaldo , it's show he is something that's why he is playing along side with great players, he definitely will replace silva and change the dynamo s of the team, second on the back city needs Garay as perminant, he is quick and fit as well also can pass the ball as well, last yaya replacement kongdobgbia or mascherano. Cos mascherano is quick and experience as well. Fernandinho needs time to settle into the team.

Today they should substitute Ageuro with negredo and yaya with nasri and Fernandinho and should nt be substitute. Wrong decision by manager.

We need to learn to adapt to suit our opponents before and during the game

That was shit from kick off

I am now going to alienate 99.99% no 100.00% of City fans, but wtf.

Zabaleta is a poor footballer. I have never rated him.. 100% commitment? Tick.

Quality? Fuck off. Ineffective going forward, to the point of useless. Average in defence at best. Constantly out of position, slow, switches off, just poor.

Overall, nothing special at all. I really cannot see why everyone rates him. Today he was terrible.

Similar to Clichy then...looks very vulnerable at the moment.

Clichy has pace at least, and can cross. For me, Clichy is a better player

Which Clichy are you watching ?

One in a parallel universe.

He MAY be able to cross but chooses never to. He was in a position to cross numerous times today when it would have advantageous to do so even if it had been a poor cross but had made it into the p,area as we had a couple of players in there.

He is either under instruction never to cross or has no confidence in his ability to do so.
