Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

We did see some of last season's failings today but Pellegrini won't solve them in an instant.

Poor marking was actually our biggest problem today and that is addressable with the current players.

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Where we got things wrong:

1 pellegrini needs not to put his faith in dzeko too much i believe negredo is a sharper goal scorer let's not neglect d understanding btw navas n negredo d way mancini did for aguero and tevez last season (pelle's fault)

2 he pushed navas into d middl too much against a team dt packd themselvs in middle a lot. He was being loyal to his 4-2-2-2 system that has 2 interiors (navas and silva); while that's ok it was not good enough against a team dat packed themselves in d middle (pelle's fault)

3 as if that wasn't enough he eventually removed navas for nasri (uncalled for) only to later introduce milner to do d wide job. I hear somebody say navas was ineffective but i say it was just a matter of time before the opposition would be broken had he left navas on d pitch. That was our only creative wide outlet for God sakes (pelle's fault)

4 aguero was miserable! Selfish and unsharp (agueros fault)

5 we can't do without our main guys in defence as d guys at d back were poor with corners (nobodys fault)

I pray pelle learns from his mistakes

Agreed.

He's on the phone getting Bobby in as defensive coach.
We would not have lost that with Mancini in charge, we have dropped a huge bollock

so Southampton away did not happen then last season?
Saints are a better team than Cardiff, Mancini would have sorted the tactics out once Cardiff had equalised and we would have gone on and pissed that game today.
Sacked for shouting at a few players what a friggin joke

Pellegrini's had two competitive games mate. I'm not in the slightest bit concerned about a freak result in which we conceded two goals from two corners. The point I make about our weaknesses, well lets see how the team evolves in the next few weeks and months.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of people very upset, fuck knows I am. But everyone loses a game they shouldn't sooner or later. Lets see if we learn anything from it before we start yelling and screaming hey ...

Billy-i didn't think it was a freak result.I actually thought Cardiff wanted it more and showed the desire and passion that our so called players didn't. For what Cardiff lack in skill they make up for in desire.
Sadly,City still think they can just turn up and roll teams over like this. I'm not yelling and screaming but it is very concerning that there was no difference in that today from what we all witnessed last season away from home.
I am just thinking about european games this season...We play like that and we will get pummelled.
Sunderland away in 2011-12 was a freak result. We created 27 changes in that game and Sunderland scored in injury time with their only shot on target.

Today had nowt freak about it at all. We were slow, lethargic, lazy and nobody took control of things. We also created very little. Cardiff were desperate to win that game, they defended well and took 3 of their 6 chances.
Correctamundo!!!

Not one team will be afraid of us away from home after that - not one

Felt quite giddy this morning seeing our shirts back on the rails at El Corte Ingles

Most of them will be staying there if something doesn´t change and these overpaid twats don´t start showing some fookin pride in their performances

On to Saturday then and I for one expect the mother of all reactions
We were told that Mancini had lost the good will of certain players, maybe they were using him as an excuse to sit on their easychairs last season. One title and they think they've done it all.

I'm more interested in the attitude away from home than at home to Hull

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Terrible defending. Cardiff came fwd 3 times 2nd half and scored each time, could bloody see it coming for the 3rd.

We controlled majority. We had some chances.

Negredo looks good.

It's a freak result, very disappointing, but a freak.

We saw this last season, particularly on the road. Too many times it seems the game plan is for one of our 'stars' to work some individual magic and the game is won. We have the players to do it, but we never give teams enough to think about. Drive them back, don't let them catch their breath, and fuckin' well defend when yer need to. Think I'll email Manny, see if he needs me!

That is the issue the tactics are the same at home as they are away. But for some reason the players go into their shells and play passively. Mancini was berated for it ,as if he told the players to play differently away, and similarly I worry the new manager will be criticised the same. It is disgraceful the contrast between home and away performances. We all know the players have the talent they prove it eash week at Eastlands when teams sit back and defend even more. Why is it so different at away grounds?
