So in a season when all our strikers, and squad overall, under performed yet he finished our joint top scorer, holds more merit than others?

tevez is know were near being world class anymore there's a reason why he doesn't play for his country don't let his work rate and our poor season fool u, yes he was our top scorer with 17 goals but 5 of those were against championship sides in 3 matches take those out an that puts him at 12 in 44 appearances including the community shield. yes he has at times this season been deployed a bit deeper and has got a fair few assist but he's also lost some pace and is no where near as lethal in front of goal as he use to be tevez only manged 2 goals against top 4 opponents this season again 1 was in the community shield and didn't mange a single goal in champions league.
in the end it all come's down to sell for 8-12 mill and save 10 mil in wage, which should be enough to buy a good replacement or keep a good (not great) player for one more year and let him go for free.

Maybe Pellegrini and Txiki see him more as an attacking midfielder? Which he arguably was last season, Isco could be his replacement. Tevez IMO has lost his goal scoring touch.
