11 million euros is a terrible price for Carlos Tevez.
Anyone who defends this is biased.
Go on youtube and pull up a compilation of Tevez's skils and goals. Just pretend he doesn't play for us and watch a few.
Then tell me how much you'd value him, even in the last year of his contract.
But we fawn over players that have half the talent at twice the orice everyday.
And yet we justify it by saying he's lost it or he's on a downward spiral...bullshit
Tevez can get in any strike force in Britain, he would be first choice at Madrid and Barcelona, he would start at Bayern.
Talk about not knowing what you have till you lose it

Take your poster down and get back on youtube window licker!!!

Haha Bravo. I feel truly enlightened by your response.
But what you've done is a bit "done"

Not to mention RVP's wages at Arsenal weren't astronomic.

Not nearly as many bidders for Tevez because they can't afford him
They are at United, more so than Tevez's now.

So if people "can't afford" Tevez, yet RVP had more suitors, it doesn't really add up.

Tremendous loyalty?

You mean the player who was injury ridden throughout his Arsenal career yet the club persisted and stuck by him, to only say he's not signing a new contract and wants to leave off the back of one stand out season to one of their biggest rivals?

Before he had been sold, Tevez and RVP each had one season of 30+ goals. Yet, Tevez's next best consisted of 29 and 23 and RVP's consisted of 22 and 20.

RVP carried Arsenal as much as Carlos carried us in the past.

£9m for for a player of Tevez's standards is a steal, especially given the comparison.

I'm merely pointing out that the criteria that you used to justify £9m for Tevez wasn't exactly correct.

You're are ignoring, not pointing anything out - he played 144 times for arsenal from the new contract he signed in 2009, scoring 89 goals - absolute shite and injury ravaged, he had 6 months out with a cruciate 2009/10, He has got better and better after that injury, where is this 1 season tag come from????

Tevez has in the same period played 109 games and scored 58 goals (most coming in the first 18 months), handed in 3 transfer requests, had a 6 months holiday because he felt like it and disrespected the club because he's a merc,,, if you can't see the difference or attach the difference in value, so be it!
His attitude towards the club bears no link to his value as a player.

Again, I'm pointing out your criteria used to justify £9m for Tevez was wrong.

Also, this is a list of RVP's injuries at Arsenal;

Groin Strain 2012 February 29th
Ankle/Foot Injury 2011 August 7th
Knee Injury 2011 February 28th
Hamstring Injury 2011 February 22nd

So yeah, injury ridden was being nice...

yet he played more times and scored more times than a guy who was fit as a fiddle in the same contractual period - you're ignoring facts to reinforce a claim.... anyway i'm happy, the club if they sell him for that will be more than happy and more importantly we can utilise aguero correctly!

-- Fri Jun 07, 2013 6:51 pm --

The very fact you used 'youtube' as a reference points says it all, personally i watch him in the flesh!!!

Tevez has been a great player for us but as his goals have reduced he has dropped deeper and this from my 12 year old son . "When Tevez gets the ball he trys to do something himself and when he decides he can't the defence has got back behind the ball". From a boy whose coach trys to teach quick one or two touch passing.
It's not a bad deal if we get 9 mill and save 12million in wages, if he was going for free next year.Especially as he probably would not be a regular starter,we know what trouble that can cause.

Yes, because Tevez went walkies for 6 months but that doesn't detract from his abilities.

He's a world class player, and for you to say that £9m for a player of 28/9 years of age, last year of his contract and had seen better days is a very poor attempt to justify it given that that exact criteria can be applied to someone like RVP.

Anyone who buys him is a mug unless they want to play him as a midfielder.

You haven't seen him play for years because you're talking about the old Tevez

Tevez was the third most wasteful striker in the entire league last season. How is that not deterioration compared to a few years ago when he carried us on his back? 13% or 15% (I forget) of chances converted.

How about being the top goal scorer for the club

Top in assists as well with Silva

2nd in creating chances after Silva

I think some of these indications are important more than the conversion rate that some wants to build the whole evaluation on.

We could do this all day, it's not sinking in Pudge - tevez has been shite for 2 years where as RVP hasn't, one commands a higher fee on merit, the other doesn't- anyway we'll agree to disagree!!!

I see no, little at most, difference between this situation and RVP.

28/29 years of age, like you said.

Last year of their contracts, like you said.

Arguably, regarding RVP, at the time given injuries both have seen better days, like you said.

Both sought after by big clubs.

Yet we get £9m and Arsenal got £22m...

If you factor in the fact RVP openly said he wanted to leave it's even worse.

Don't be silly, rvp has, including this year, been the stand out striker in the prem for 3 years, was on 100k a week and shown tremendous loyalty to his club, tevez has been a twat and with that it deflates his value- it's called upward and downward curve, tevez is the 2nd one!

Tevez value is determined by the market. The market has determined he's worth half that of RVP. You can argue all you want, but it doesn't matter. He is worth 9-11 million because that's what other teams are willing to pay. No one was willing to pay $22 million, or anything remotely close to that figure.

Wow, you're incredibly narrow minded and petty.
Any intelligent person would easily understand that youtube is just a point of reference.
And I have every right to use it because every player, well known or not, in this forum is accompanied by a YouTube video showcasing his best moments.
But I guess you feel the need to let me know how you "roll"
Well you know what? I'll leave the globe trotting, swashbuckling, and live-in-the-flesh player watching to you. And I'll stick to my youtubing as long as I never stoop down to your level.
Jackass.

When was the last time you saw him race on to a through ball and round the keeper?

Only goals he scores now are fantastic long range shots and the odd tap in.

He's a quality player, but no longer at his best. Therefore we should be thanking our lucky stars if someone wants to buy him, because it will enable us to bring in a replacement
