Looks to me like Tevez wants to go... and i have to say its not the first time is it?? i reckon with the contract situation if him and slimy kia want out we won't stand in his way.. i trust suitable replacements have already been identified.
Hasn't looked that way to me.

City seem to be doing more of the pushing this summer and Tévez doesn't seem too fussed either way.

?????????

Do you really think Cavani and Dzeko would work as a partnership? Even Pulis plays Walters off the target man. 4-4-2 is dead in the Premiership.

4-4-2 is dead in the premiership?, really? wow!! and how is that so? is there a chip planted on strikers heads recently that was not planted before that now stops them from linking up as two CF, or what exactly is the change.

Yes it is. How many great teams play 4-4-2? Bayern, Real, Barca even the rags don't play that.

It hasn't looked that way to me either,in fact,if it wasn't for these 'reports' id have said he was amongst our best players last season and trying to earn himself a new contract(under a new manager)

Agree would like him to stay - also think he would not be too pissed if he did not start every game but over all he has been positive for the club has had some outstanding games one of the best players i have seen in a City shirt and as long as we replace him with quality then for me he goes with a big thank you

So because those teams do not play 4-4-2, that means it is dead in the premiership or we cannot employ it in certain situations or matches as a valid alternative to 4-3-3, which is what my original post suggested if you actually read it properly.

442 is a valid option for us especially if we get Cavani and keep Dzeko.

I get the impression that with Pellegrini our main striker will just be asked to strike the ball at goal - no real priority on involvement around the box. IMO he seems like a manager who likes simplicity, eg wingers cross, midfielders drive forward, strikers to be up top.

I think Pellegrini recognises that we have dilly dallied too much around the box and wants us to be more direct from midfield with shots (Isco and Fernandinho) and crosses (Navas).

I think Pelligrini will want 1 striker to stay very disciplined in a forward role (like Mario in the Euros). The other striker might be given licence to roam.

Dzeko could do the disciplined role only whereas Aguero or Cavani could do either. So Dzeko is at a bit of a disadvantage but I have a sneaky suspicion that Pelligrini would love Dzeko.

Oh this is the Tevez thread.... Tevez will surely go if we get Isco.

Fight & commitment (on the pitch) we need more players like tevez not be trying to flog them off. Something mancini never grasped hope pelli doesn't fall into the same trap, there's a reason everton have done so well against us in recent years.

If he won't sign an extension, we have to get something for him now so he doesn't go on a free next year. It's as simple as that really.

Tevez was a one man wrecking machine playing as the solitary striker.

Last season we had neither the midfield with a work rate and energy nor the wingers and the overall pace in the team to play 4 4 2 - this seaosn with different players and a who knows - 4 4 2 mean that the middle 2 of the 4 have to br able to cover lots of ground be able to put their foot in and generally have a high work rate
