Oh, so you're admit then, that the doll was made in an overview of what Black people represented in comparison to White people, then? The doll is NOT a 'cuddly' figure as it wasn't made that way, initially.

The doll was made based on the Minstrels show as far as I know. If that was deemed racist then fair enough but things were different then.

The thing that makes the doll upsetting to people is that the word 'wog' has come from it. I noticed a few BT haters on here thought it was ok when Ikben Blue called Benjani a wog and when I explained to him that he'd better not make that remark to my nephew he replied with 'Is he a wog?'

Another thing, at what point is being racist a crime? Saying someone looks like a doll, saying the N word or fire-bombing a family home?

That Black people should grow 'thick skins' and ignore dolls that were made to be disgusted at?? Racism isn't really a crime, is it? It's an offence. The consequensive actions provoking/ carried out by racism that leads to someone's harm is a crime.

Was the 'Black and White Minstrel Show' from the seventies racist or offensive.

It was very much of its time, rather like 'Love thy Neighbour'. On reflection I think you can see now how these shows were probably inappropriate and, unintentionally I feel, racist in nature and therefore offfensive to black people .

When I was about 6 or 7, I used to love it. That was until my well-meaning [socialist teacher type], 'white' great aunt pointed out that, as a 'mixed race' child, I couldn't be either. That show was never the same for me again. Looking back, it was an obscenity, but retrospection is an easy tool to use, of course.

Why should I give a shit about a story from 'your mate'? True or not.

If I tell you a story about an Asian kid being picked on everyday in school, raciallly abused or beaten up by white kids does that mean I, as a white person, must be racist and there is a huge conspiracy to 'keep down' all Asians.

Get a grip pal.

If I were to judge you from what you've written here I could only assume that you hold very similar views to the Asian kids who beat up white kids because they think that all white people are bastards or 'against them'.
