Key word “ commercial “To me it suggests that the investigation is dead in the water. The PL have got themselves into the same mess as UEFA. They have allowed themselves to be pressurised into launchng an investigation by our commercial rivals but now have no evidence (because there is nothing to find) and nowhere to go without looking stupid.
Remember the discredited Der Spiegl claims relate to alleged financial issues going back to the 2010 accounts...years before FFP was even introduced. An independent judge has already warned the parties involved (City and the PL) that they have to essentially "put up or shut up" because it has dragged on too long. The only reason this is still on the table is because it is part of an ongoing smear campaign to damage City's reputation by a cabal of clubs led by LFC and MUFC. As Khaldoon said: "Organised and clear." The PL have allowed themselves to be "played" by our commercial rivals.
2000 crab apples ? ;-)We will be hit with a Windfall tax,
Has it come out as a result of City referring to it the annual accounts?Shocked that this news has come out today!
Is that incider information?2000 crab apples ? ;-)
Im surprised we have made any profit considering the amount of money we have supposedly paid people and organisation’s off with ..Come on, the record revenues and profits are proof of cheating.
Yes, I would guess that since the courts decided it was in the public interest to announce that there was an investigation (still) that we had to acknowledge it in the books. If they managed to concoct something then they could heavily fine us, which would have an impact on our books going forward.Has it come out as a result of City referring to it the annual accounts?
According to Der Spiegel there were 3 areas under investigation by the PL (whether it's true or not is another matter, as the PL wouldn't reply to them):-To me it suggests that the investigation is dead in the water. The Mancini one is laughable because his consultancy happened in 2009 well before FFP existed. There is nothing secretive about it and it happens all the time and is perfectly legal. Total bollocks.According to Der Spiegel there were 3 areas under investigation by the PL (whether it's true or not is another matter, as the PL wouldn't reply to them):-
Already, the English football league has spent years investigating Manchester City, largely out of the public eye. According to information obtained by DER SPIEGEL, that investigation is focusing on three primary allegations.
- Underage players were allegedly pressured to sign contracts with Manchester City through monetary payments, in violation of the rules.
- Club sponsors in Abu Dhabi are suspected of having provided only a portion of their payments to the club themselves, with the majority apparently coming from Sheikh Mansour himself.
- Roberto Mancini, who is currently the trainer for the Italian national team but who spent the years from 2009 to 2013 as the trainer for ManCity, is thought to have received a significant portion of his compensation secretly by way of a fictitious consultancy contract.
Manchester City's Cozy Ties to Abu Dhabi: Sponsorship Money – Paid for by the State
Since the sanctions imposed on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, links between English football clubs and authoritarian states have been in the spotlight. Internal documents show that Manchester City has received funding from a government agency in Abu Dhabi.www.spiegel.de
