CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

They may well go down that route now we have been cleared,i as everyone else hopes so,if it is good enough for trump ..
The honour and integrity of people with a high, global public profile, such as Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon al Mubarak and others has been dragged through the mud for years over this. Theirs is a culture where that is the ultimate insult. It will not go unpunished.

I have said previously that City will not take on any media outlet because it will only write the back pages for them. They will only correct inaccuracies in reporting. If you look at most of the rubbish spouted on tw@ter etc most of it is true. Yes it has been taken out of context massively and they have not reported the full facts but all in all most of it is true and lifted off the CAS report.

We don't need to take on media outlets in the Courts, but we should be banning the out of context wankers from the stadium, press conferences etc for a year. Tell them future articles they write about City will be judged on balance and fairness, if they wish to carry on with their anti City agenda then crack on, but the ban will then be extended.

Great find, that response really sums up what our venal, supine sports media has become.

And, sadly, as for the BBC, our news medium of record, it is proving itself as partial and incompetent as the tired, dying print media. I don’t expect apologies from Roan et al anytime soon for their sly, uneven and underhanded coverage of City’s battles with UEFA/the G14.

The whole news section of the BBC needs investigation. I’ve been waiting almost 10 days now for something/anything from the BBC regarding the scandal that has been going on at King’s Hospital in London, with the closure and evacuation of patients from the newly built £100M Critical Care Unit due to fire safety concerns regarding the cladding on the external walls of the building (Grenfell, anyone?). Nothing on the Beeb, no questions asked of the Trust managers and certainly no scrutiny of the government.

So, no, I expect we’ll have to wait for Hell to freeze over before City and us supporters get anything like an apology for the downright f**king lies we’ve had to endure these past 12 years from those twunts in the media..

i fuckin hope so, I’ll throw a tenner in the kitty to help out.

Do you honestly think he cares about all the click bait merchants
Most people don’t even use Twitter
He will take handing uefa their arse on a plate as a success

My complaint to BBC:

Dear sirs,
I find the report on the release of the full CAS findings in the case of UEFA vs Man City to be exceedingly biased in its tone and content. Although factually correct it misrepresents the whole completely. I can only surmise that it was written by somebody with an agenda against Manchester City and I find it reprehensible that the cherry-picking of itmes from the report has been done to sully the good name of an institution that works tirelessly in the community and one that has helped rejuvenate the area in which it finds itself.

I thought the remit of the BBC was to be impartial in all things not to pander to click-baiting nonsense such as this.
Very similar to mine although I referred to the fact that they referred twice to City being found guilty of gross financial misconduct by by UEFA although we were actually cleared on 13.07.20, sounds like this was cobbled together resppnce using bits of old posts !

It's a shame there is no investigative journalist out there with the balls, they could probably have the biggest corruption story ever seen in football. More than likely a few hacks on that payroll too.

I know my eyesight is failing but I am sure I read somewhere in the verdict that CAS mentions the fact that one of emails used as evidence was actually two emails doctored and made to look as one. Nick Harris suggests that isn’t the case and all emails were authentic. Am I going mad or is he, as I presume, being economical with the truth?
He’s a cnut...

However, it is worth remembering that culturally they are more mature about this than westerners and a press blazing headline grabbing series of acts is not the way it will go down.

Our owners come from a family, and a culture where holding the high moral ground is important. So they will do things properly, behind closed doors, subtlety but in an assured manner. They will know they have won the longer game, those against them will know too. The sideline act of the press will not even be thought about. But those accountable, be they board members of football clubs, officials at governing bodies, other owners - they will all know they are in for a torrid torrid time now.

Class, dignity and success is our owners way - with Chinese and I think the very strategic Sliver Lake investment to counter American influence long term we will come out on top without resorting to name calling and mud slinging.

I think they are making a case for the club to ban them.

If you look at the summary from Rob Harris that @Ric posted, it's genuinely beyond parody. This is a 93 page document with hundreds of + and - points from CAS against City and UEFA, but he's selectively quoted only the most critical parts, out of context.

There could definitely be some complaints made to the Independent Press Standards Office over this coverage. It's not even pretending to hold up to the editorial standard of the AP.
Series that still apply if they are tweeting privately?

It also appears UEFA wanted to use stuff from 2012 & 2013, that was the only bits time barred. The vast majority of evidence was permissible but couldn’t prove wrong doing.
This I believe are evidence between investigators and City over our sponsorship deals.

this won't be forgotten by a long chalk...I'm thinking that there will be slow methodical change in UEFA...there has to be, the wrap on the knuckles received is that of a regime it knows is done for. City will always play within the rules, it would have been foolish not to...and it will continue to publicly do so. There won't be any heads popping up over any parapets, no close quarter combat...City won't want to be in any limelight, except for pure footballing reasons, the club will do what it should, solidify it's position and deal silently with those who think that know better...sheer class. No other club has flexed it's muscles in the manner City has, the upstart has now mastered the realm within which it sits...there is nothing the club cannot achieve.
