Cashless society

Worst thing that happened was contact payments in pubs.

When I used to hand over a £20 note, I knew the value of that.......now all this tap tap tap malarkey, it's too easy to spend money
Also, in a pub, when they say "5.60" or whatever, how many of us actually check the amount on the card thing??

Oh yeah - and with ATM's disappearing from the high street, what also gets on my tits are these cash machines in corner shops etc that charge me £2.75 (or whatever) to draw some money out

For me I find the exact opposite to be the case.

When I used to go out with a wedge of cash, I’d count up what I had left in the morning and it was ridiculous what I’d got through more often than not. I don’t know whether I was buying every fucker in the pub drinks. Giving ridiculous tips. Getting ripped off or just losing it. But I was regularly spending twice as much as I could possibly have drunk.

Now, everything is traceable and I spend miles less.

Also let’s you draw a little mental map of where you’ve been. Which was often a complete unknown.

I travelled Iceland for weeks years ago and never even seen the local currency once, all cashless even back then

I feel stupid paying a couple of quid on my card , dont do it on the phone app thingy , debit card in the flesh works as well !

Dont think taxi fares are on cards , i keep cash on me for that and hairdresser, gardener , cash should never end

@Bluesince1979 sorry to hear that and glad you got sorted. You are lucky your account sorted it because I know that once they say they are right, they don't change their mind. But we are meant to trust them and the banks, oh by the way Fred Goodwin says hi........ from his yacht in the Caribbean.
Horrible time but my accountant is a woman who wouldnt let it go.

Worrying about the government following me because I don't use cash, I repeat doesn't bother me. If they are They'll soon get bored, and I do everything by the book.

And yeah tradies avoiding tax pisses me of, I'm not apologizing for that. Especially when they flaunt their wealth.

And no, I'm not jealous of anybody so fuck off with that shit.
Ok haha , think you are

Do brothels take cards now?

5 years ago i was issued with a £7k tax bill that i knew was wrong. They hounded me, asked me to provide my outgoings and worked a figure they wanted each month to clear the ‘debt’ that would leave me with £0 a month to spend after bills. Yes , zero pounds. Thats how they wanted me to live for 5 years

Luckily my accountant is shit hot. Whilst it was quite literally causing me massive mental health issues she cracked on and sorted for me. Guess what, they owed me £250. Took them 2 years to pay me too.

I wouldnt and dont trust ‘them’ as far as i can throw them and i wont on any level.

So yeah, if people are happy for ‘them’ to follow there every move without thinking theres an ulterior motive, ultimately , good luck
...and dont forget, if you are S/E then HMRC take half of last years tax bill and hold on account for, because they are nice and caring like that, should you fall on hard times.

How is it that the tradesmen over there are so well paid then, are they more highly trained, more qualified or skilled than their counterparts elsewhere and if not then why are there not more competing for said spoils, driving the price down.

When you realise the government is not your friend things make sense.
