Cashless society

As well as never using cash, I also can’t remember the last time I used a debit/credit card. My debit card is in the bottom of a drawer next to me bed, not had it out for ages.

I pay for everything on my phone. It’s safer as well since Apple Pay encrypts our bank details.

You can even withdraw cash without a debit card these days. No need for them, just another unneeded piece of plastic the world doesn’t need, as well as being no need for cash.

Haven’t taken my wallet out with me for years. It sits at the bottom of a drawer along with the usual pile of random shite, old charger cables and multiple copies of those naff little allen keys you get with IKEA tat.

And diddling yourself out of consumer protections specific to credit cards rather than intermediary payment handlers.

Not a great idea for bigger purchases if you can avoid it.

Newsflash: you don’t need to physically use your credit card to get the associated protections. All Apple Pay is is a secure interface, your credit card company treats the transaction in exactly the same way.

Fuckin hell….

Thanks for the correction.

Doesn't stop them trying it on though.

There is still a need for cash. Just because your world says there isn’t doesn’t make it so.
That post was more aimed at there being no need for debit cards since I also did say you can withdraw cash without a card these days if you needed to.

I do all that but with Google pay. Don't take cards out with me anymore.
Another problem with cash that I hate is, it's filthy.

At what age do kids have debit cards these days? I was at a random match last season and the kiosks were card only. A young lad couldn’t pay for his chocolate bar because of it.
