Cashless society

Bit of a big jump from his usual modus operandi.

He's still offering his services via a small card wedged in a piss smelling phone box.
I suppose now misty has revealed there's money and not just dead spiders /ration coupons in his wallet anythings possible

Germany is very far for cashless if you ask me. Had to draw cash every day, so many restaurants take only cash. Didn't expect that to be honest
I’d agree. I think I used my Visa card in Berlin buying football merch only. The bars seemed to be cash based.

Must go back. Love that city so much.

Was in the old wellington after the game against Fulham well a couple of hours after had something to eat few pints then asked for the bill the young girl returned and asked if I was paying by card or cash.intended to pay by card but decided then cash I also left a tip but if paying by card I wouldn’t have done so ..each to their own cash is still important to a lot of people.

Cool story

I understand your logic and have empathy for the loss of a friend.

However..the amount of people I know who have been attacked and robbed of large amounts of cash pales into insignificance when recalling the folk who have had their bank accounts cleared by online deception ,or simple multiple unauthorised deductions which go undetected for quite some time...
So are you advocating a return to the 1970s, cash & cheques and an end to online banking as you think it's too unsafe ?

Sounds odd doesn't it, but last year 75% of the gen pop in the UK made a cash transaction and during the covid infection and lockdown cash use went up not down.

Cash id also an identity mate, big business wants us all to be paid in credits it's getting more and more like 2000ad ;)

Some card machines allow you to add gratuity and it’s also possible to pay the bill by card and tip in cash.

I use Apple Pay or contactless for almost all transactions now. It’s just so much easier.

Not if you live in a rural area its not. Areas around Caernarfon for instance, hardly a backwoods, are still struggling to get 3g and card machines can regularly fail. When the UK invests for everyone's benefit then maybe everyone will embrace it.

I’m ok in Asda Birkenhead though.

I’ve friends in Caernarfon from Wales matches. I often heard from them on Twitter before I deleted but I’ll ask how bad the internet was next time I see them.

Broadbottom is like Royston Vassey, nothing works once you get near it, there are loads of places like it mate.

I found £5 in an envelope the other day. I've added it to the other £20 in my wallet. God knows when I shall actually spend it. I suppose it may come in one day.
I've had $20 for about 3 years, I don't bother carrying it around anymore.
