Cavani (continued)

Cavani is a beast of a striker.
But before we buy, we need to get rid off one or two of our own. Cant think about selling after buying because then the market will rob us blind while selling.

This guy is on another level to Dzeko, he could actually play in our system with his quality first touch.

Can't win either way. If we sign first they know we've got to sell or keep paying two sets of wages.

Barely if at all, it is amazing how people can't see that outside of a counter attacking team (which we are basically the opposite of) he wont flourish

If anything Dzeko has slightly better passing and skill

So why is his pass completion worse than Cavani's?

Fantastic strawman....

But pass completion does not mean he is a better passer - Dzeko tries riskier things

Higher pass completion doesn't mean he's a better passer but poor pass completion can be an indicator that something is wrong. I've not seen Cavani this season but both he and Dzeko have pass completion levels below what I think a City player should achieve.

As to excusing Dzeko, who I've obviously seen plenty of, the idea that his low pass completion is down to trying riskier things does not wash: he messes up plenty of simple passes. He can see a pass but he ha frequently has the touch of a pachyderm and gets the weight of pass wrong far too often.

If the Isco or Beñat threads have any legs, what would we line up like if we got all of them in?

My crack:

Hart

Zabaleta Kompany Nastasic Clichy

Barry
Yaya Tóure Isco/Beñat
Agüero Silva

Cavani

more like

..........................hart................................

zab............komp........nast................clichy

.................yaya............Barry....................

........................silva..................................

.....aguero.................................isco..........

........................Cavani..............................

However don't hold out to much hope on Cavani, City won't pay whats being asked and there chairman is a ruthless twat, would love him though, he's a step up on how tevez use to play, full of running/workrate and extremely clinical. still would of preferred RVP though, he'd of been superb in our current system.

Not a slight on anyones opinion...I really dont give a shit whether a Centre Forward has a decent pass completion percentage.

I'm interested in Goals myself...that's the currency we're after.

Cavani is a first class predator, an opportunist.
He thrives on mistakes by defenders or speedy counter- attack.
Better than Dzeko? Not so sure.
He would fit in united's team as they play percentage football and have very fast wingers.
Our play is more deliberate, sometimes predictable, With us it would be waste of money.
A striker like this is considered an alternative for us just like with Barca's system
You don't pay 45mill for an alternative
We would have to drastically change our speed of player, perhaps even our style.

Swap Paulinho for Isco, put Yaya where Silva was and Silva wide where Isco was and I'm with you. I prefer Yaya further forward, and if we had that kind of presence centrally with the attacking threat of the others on front, Gaz would have a bit less to do; the opposition would have to be pretty circumspect.

I'd have Milner and Isco on the bench to swap with with either Yaya/Barry and Silva/Agüero respectively.

Love Cavani. Think he's a beast.
