There's no doubt that there's quality there, but I'm not sure it's enough to justify the 50m+ price tag.

Doubt he'd cost that much and I agree, he is definitely not worth it.

But whatever money some club pay for Neymar half of that amount will be due to his marketing potential and other half for football one. That's just one of transfers that can't be fail financially. Football related - yes, each one can be fail so Neymar's one too but financially no.

I can't make sense of that. Are you saying that spending £50 million on Neymar cannot be a failure financially?

Neymar is bigger than Rik Waller in Brazil mate. Absolutely huge potential for commercial revenue from his stature as a player. He's going through a bad spell to be fair but he's one hell of a player and he sells shirts and he is a big name signing. He needs to sort his life out a bit though, party boy and maybe a huge ego. Needs quelling imo.

Falcao is far superior to Cavani for me but I wouldn't be overly dissapointed if we got Cavani. I would be disappointed if we missed out on both and only brought in Jovetic.

At least this would keep them away from Kun, silver lining and all that:

Reports in Italy suggest if Edinson Cavani does leave Napoli, it’ll be only for Real Madrid rather than Manchester City or PSG.

The Partenopei have left the door open for a summer departure if someone stumps up the €70m needed to activate his buy-out clause.

While Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are among those showing a firm interest in the Uruguayan, it seems that Real have the upper hand.

According to SportMediaset, Cavani has decided he will only leave Napoli if it is for a transfer to Real Madrid.

He does not want to follow former teammate Ezequiel Lavezzi to PSG, nor try the Premier League.

Any move would boost his wages, which are currently €5m per season at the Stadio San Paolo.

Cavani is the current Serie A top scorer with 20 goals this term.

I believe the club will already have made a decision on the managerial situation and, subsequently,i would hope, after last season, that our dealings are already someway down the line and only the finer details need sorting.

We cant afford another fiasco and need to act quickly and with certainty in order to maximise our efforts at regaining the title.

Anything printed in the press now is probably speculation and more likely irrelevant.

Good news for we in Falcao pursiut, if this is true:

Chelsea jump to front of queue to sign striker Bony as West Ham interest cools

By Laurie Whitwell

Chelsea have reportedly joined West Ham in the pursuit of Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony and are ready to hijack the move.

The £12million-rated player’s agent, Francis Kacou, was at Stamford Bridge on Monday to propose a transfer, according to the Sun.

Also there was Jose Mourinho, Chelsea’s potential next manager, as well as Vitesse owner Merab Jordania, who has links with Roman Abramovich, and Erwin Kasakowski, managing director of the Dutch outfit.

The topic of discussion was the Ivory Coast international, who has scored 26 goals in 24 league games to fire Vitesse into an unlikely title race.

West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan met London-based Kacou earlier that day but chances of a switch to Upton Park cooled after Bony’s wage demands of nearly £80,000 emerged.

Vitesse are resigned to losing the 24-year-old, who has drawn comparison with Didier Drogba, this summer but first hope he will guide them to the Champions League. His current deal, signed in a £4million move from Sparta Prague in January 2011, runs until 2015.

Chelsea have a working relationship with Vitesse and seven Chelsea youngsters have gone there on loan in the past two seasons.

Sportsmail revealed in November how Chelsea sporting director Michael Emenalo had watched Bony at first hand and the player even spoke at the time about his desire to play for the club.

Main man: Bony has been in fine form for Dutch side Vitesse

‘If they want me, it would be a great honour,’ he told Czech Republic newspaper Pravo. ‘I would be glad to go to such a club.

‘I love English football and wouldn’t be afraid to play there. Chelsea are a top club.

‘I know that Chelsea and Arnhem are close and some of the Chelsea lads are here on loan, including Tomas (Kalas). I have discussed it with him many times already.’

I think Chelsea will buy two or three forwards in the Summer.

They will get a big name, then maybe go for this Bony or someone of similar recognition and will keep Lukaku on loan in my opinion.

Torres will be gone no doubt and Ba will probably end up 3rd or 4th choice,

They will make sure they have 4 stikers by deadline day in my opinion.

That will be one of the biggest mistakes of the season.

I bigged up Bony in the international fixtures thread the other day, that guy can become a top striker. But if they signed him and Falcao, what happens to Lukaku? Chelsea play one striker and would have Falcao, Bony, Lukaku, and Ba... assuming Torres left. Perhaps they will, for once, go for the bargain buy instead of the expensive one and leave Falcao for us? :P

That's what I think too. I doubt we will make the same mistake as last year.

As for Chelsea, I can't see Torres staying, just doubt they will keep him. With Roman, though you know he might just keep buying so there is no telling if they will or won't buy this Bony guy.
