We have to also look at the another side of this. The one thing that Txiki, Soriano and along with Laporta did at barca in their first term was to get rid of the high earners that were not required asap (the likes of kluivert, reizeger etc)

The next step was to bring in a world class player that would help the team but also (not publicly stated) to allow mass revenue of shirt sales, so they managed to acquire Ronaldinho.

So I honestly think that the same ideals will be tried here as well. We not only have to make signings that will enable us to achieve more next season in all competitions but we have to look at the revenue angle as well

One major marquee signing will be required, the rest made up of talent to strengthen the starting eleven and the bench. We have to start the ball rolling in terms of getting club exposure all over the world, and this is done by the one star player and numerous shirt sales
but who will that star player be though? Can't see us getting Neymar or Bale. Gotze gone to Bayern.

Wait and see just wait and see

Despite how it looks, the chances of us signing a superstar player in the Summer are very very good! Gonna be a great Summer!

Tbh i think they will wna to do here what they do at barca when they took ronaldinho not a world-class player at that time but with a HUGE potential to be with money paid for him being take again only from shirt sales..if we look atm all the road goes to Neymar..maybe he will the player txiki and the rest will hope to 'blow the summer transfers in the air'

that's the thing though, I keep hearing Neymar but honestly not too keen on him. Maybe he will turn out great but how many times have we seen players from Brazil fail to live up to the hype in Europe?

Chelsea believe they have won the race to land Atletico Madrid centre forward Radamel Falcao.
Talks with the Colombian’s representatives and Atletico chiefs have been ongoing for months, but Chelsea think they are close to signing him.
Sportsmail can reveal the London club have turned down a potential summer move for long-term target Edinson Cavani to focus on getting Falcao’s signature secured.

We've got our man: Chelsea believe they are on the verge of completing a deal for Radamel Falcao

On target: Falcao celebrates scoring against Sevilla in a La Liga match on Sunday

Roman Abramovich has given the green light to a financial package understood to be worth £200,000 a week and will also meet Atletico’s £46million asking price.
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibault Courtois is central to the transfer negotiations. The Belgian has impressed on a season-long loan at Atletico and the Spanish club are keen to keep the 20-year-old.
Chelsea’s coaching team believe Courtois would benefit from a loan spell at a Barclays Premier League club next season as they groom him to be Petr Cech’s replacement. But they are willing to give the thumbs up to another season-long spell in the Spanish capital for the keeper to aid their quest to land Falcao.
Chelsea are so committed to signing the Falcao, 27, this summer that they have spurned the chance to negotiate a deal for Cavani, 26. The Uruguayan has long been a favourite of owner Abramovich and technical director Michael Emenalo.
The Napoli forward’s representatives recently approached Chelsea officials about a potential summer switch, indicating Stamford Bridge would be Cavani’s preferred destination should he move to England.
But Chelsea waived the option given their commitment to the Falcao deal and their move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle, 22.

Who? Really who do you think we are going to sign that will make a statement like Ronaldinho did when he went to Barca. I think you are being a tad optimistic but I will be gladly proved wrong on this one.

Bit dramatic, don't you think? :-)

Sources on Twitter continue momentum on United sitting down with Atletico to discuss Falcao fee.

I will enter depression if that happens. Would probably cost something like 60m/70m.

we wont get either. i dont think we are as big a hitter as we like to think we are. there are a fair few very wealthy clubs now. if i was a foreign millionaire footballer with numerous european clubs after my signature then id take one look at manchester and jump straight back on the plane.
this x 1000

No clubs were after Yaya, Aguero, Silva or Kompany so I think you are spot on.

Sure, they all snubbed offers from better clubs, just to play in MCFC :)
