Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

I haven't gone back to last summers threads on Cavani but weren't we all jibbing because his selling price was like 40m pounds yet we would pay that this year without blinking an eyelid. As Perez said players are an investment doesn't matter what they cost. If he gets us out of the group stages into the knockout of CL that will probably generate another 20m if he helps us do that and our coefficient goes up enabling us to get easier groups year in and year out that 55m pounds will look not as staggering as well all think it is. :-)

Yep... people seem unable to grasp the concept and Cavani is now a shit footballer because he was given no service and was only able to touch the ball 23 times in 90 minutes thanks to Spain's utter dominance. In reality, besides his free kick, Suarez was far worse. Cavani was just anonymous. Suarez completed only 33% of his passes and move after move broke down thanks to him. Yet we all know Suarez is a class player too.

I don't think anybody is saying that he's a shit fototballer.
Suarez is a better player than Cavani and i don't think anybody is asking 63 fu*king million pounds for him.

Euros. They are different style strikers and right now we need a Cavani much more than we need a Suarez. Cavani is a target man, Suarez isn't. Cavani needs 5.3 shots to score a goal, Suarez needs 8. Both have pros and cons but we have top class creative/tricky players galore and that's why the club is pursuing a strong goal scoring forward of the Cavani/Lewandowski ilk. A shame we could not sign RVP and these arguments would never have existed.

I think what he's getting at, is the asking price for cavani is a con

I'd take Cavani over Dzeko any day but this Dzeko bashing is pretty harsh.
If he stays... And big if... If he plays... He will score a hat full of goals with a more positive midfield attack force. Top fella too...
Hang on a minute though... I've just remembered... I quite like Kolarov too... So that's my argument bolloxed !!!!

Admit to having Garcia on the back of your shirt and that final particle of credibility you still possess will be forever lost!

And we aren't paying it are we? And no one else is, but a move somewhere looks more likely than not so you'd think there will be a compromise at some point. I don't know why people keep going on about his release clause when, if he does move, it won't be for that price.

I know Suarez misses alot of chances but he sure does create his own chances like no other striker in the Premier league. One is playing in arguably the best leauge in the World and the other in 3-4 best league in the World.

Let's hope we sign Cavani but for a reasonable price 35-40mill

Am I missing something here? Aren't people going on about the release clause because the owner of Napoli has said he will only let Cavani go if the release clause is met? Now he may not mean it, but he may well, and it is certainly what he is saying

According to several journalists in Italy there is a lot of pressure being put on ADL now to lower it, including by his family. Cavani wants a big move and there may have been a gentleman's agreement last year to let Cavani go at a good price but with no one willing to pay £52million, it looks like the 'good price' isn't what ADL hoped. Napoli are also working on replacements, Oscar Cardozo's agent confirmed today they'd been in contact and said exactly: "They seek a replacement for Cavani." I think, soon, Napoli will accept the very best offer whatever it may be.
