If it were me I'd draft in Demaio and Suarez.

Damiao is a good shout to be fair. I think he's ready for Europe.

Spuds have been chasing him it seems. However he said if he comes to Europe he wants to play in the Champions League. He is only 23 so he is at a perfect age in his development.

He was the top scorer in the Olympic Games tournament.

He has been linked sporadically with Napoli and Dortmund too if their respective top strikers do leave. Don't think he'd cost the earth either.

If I were Cavani (taking off blue spectacles) I would do the same. Why plump for us when it may be he has a choice of us, chelsea and Real Madrid. Furthermore he may well have got an agreement with us over wages etc but why not wait and see what the others have to offer. I don't know what the deal is with Napoli but one assumes Chelsea are pursuing them to see if they can do a deal also. As TH states and I think we are being fair, give the lad another couple of weeks then say its make your mind up time, we should also state we won't be coming back again.
Agreed too many windows we have tried to get cavani.. hopeful this is the last.. win or lose

I started a thread on damiao a while back,it's on page 8 in the transfer forum...not many blues said they would take him.....AVB has been watching him for 3 years apparently...must see summat.

There was an interesting snippet in AS. No idea how true it is, they are no more reliable than the Daily Mail at times.

Reports have also claimed that Cavani is set to arrive at Manchester City. However, the Premier League club are said to have been angered by the player, whose services they believed they had secured weeks ago. In the face of his hesitation in putting pen to paper, City are said to have had second thoughts about his signing.

According to press reports he's turned down a 25m offer from Spurs. He's 26 and is Columbian. 26 league goals for Porto last season. Not see him play though

No, if you fancy a flutter on Spuds.

Try Fredy Guarin at Inter.

Worth a go, Tolm? How confident? Won't go holding you reliable, don't worry ;]
Sky Italia, and consequently Goal, were reporting that this morning/last night.

Leandro Damião is another very good alternative. I would also like to see City uncover a player similar to Cavani at the same price as both Palermo and Napoli have paid for the player.

TMW are reporting that Napoli officials have met with PSV Eindhoven officials over the sale of attacker dries mertens....maybe they want a replacement in before letting him go to wherever he is going.

Is it just me or does cavani have very little ambition? I think he enjoys being king shit
What are you basing that on? His links to us, Chelsea, Madrid or staying with Napoli, who finished 2nd in their league, (the same as us and Madrid)?

I think that question you asked belongs in the Falcao thread.
Its just seems like he is playing a game with a whole bunch of teams when the end result will be him staying at napoli.. if he wants to stay tell the owner and stop getting media attention or state where u would like to go and move ur shit.
He is a prospective employee of 3 clubs, should he move. He doesn't give a shit about us, Chelsea or Madrid, same way you wouldn't give a shit about 3 potential employers you were looking to join. He, like anyone would, is looking for the best option for him, and if playing a few games creates better options, fair play to him. It's just a job to him, same as it is to anyone else coming here for the big money.

Transfer news: Edinson Cavani unsure if Spanish football would suit him

Means nothing really but hopefully he sees that he can be a real powerhouse over here
