Edinson Cavani is in talks with Manchester City over a proposed transfer to the Etihad Stadium, according to the player’s mother.
The Uruguay international has been heavily linked with a move away from Napoli in recent months, with Premier League duo Chelsea and City both keen on luring the 26-year-old to England.
Cavani, who has a £53.5m release clause in his Napoli contract, is also a target for Real Madrid, and the forward’s mother has confirmed that her son is in talks with both Los Blancos and the Citizens.
“Edi is talking to Madrid and City,” Berta Gómez, who regularly speaks to the media about her son, said on Uruguayan radio.
“The Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has spoken to Chelsea but there’s nothing concrete.”
“In 15 or 20 days we’ll know his destination. When there’s something concrete, his family will be the first to know.
“In any case, I assure you that Edinson loves Napoli and if he has to leave, he’ll never forget the love and affection shown by the people there.”
Cavani, who has 49 caps for Uruguay, scored 29 goals in 35 Serie A appearances last season.
