Cavani Speculation/News (page 151 onwards)

I'm amazed that only two people have pointed out the fact that Dzeko may not want to go as part of any deal. We can't force him to so the sooner some of our fans realise that then the better. City obviously have a value they feel happy paying & it won't be £54m or anywhere near that, you can't just say "fucking pay it" about every player.
Yes it's not our money, but that's the problem, if it was you wouldn't just splash it & the owner will feel the same way. He won't want to just spunk millions up the wall to please the fans, like it or not City is a business, his business & it will be run as such.
If Chelsea want to spend £54m on the player then an additional £150k pw over 5 years then good luck to them, they can have him.

That is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It's that stupid, I have to say it, Rag.

Calling me a rag for beleiving that one of our own is better ? Yea makes sense you absolute bellend, Do you know that united fans our rags or have you just hopped on the wagon
Rag atm is being used as a term to describe people who are potentially undercover un***d fans attempting to be wums.
To be fair, your post was bad enough to believe you were on the wind up.
I think what he was trying to say that as clinical as Cavani is, Agüero is a phenomenal talent capable of scoring remarkable goals like those against Norwich, Liverpool and United.

That said, Cavani has scored some great goals too, particularly volleys but some of Sergio'Sergio's goals are ridiculous and show just how much talent the kid has and how much we are yet to have fully exploited.

It really is ludicrous to suggest Cavani can't do what Aguero does.
In the same style? no... they are different players.... but in terms of impact and putting the ball in the net... absolutely capable of it.

Aguero is a great player... but make no mistake, there are others just as good. We are fortunate that we have him and Tevez in the same team, but this last season we missed chances when the previous season we scored them... that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. RvP might have a poor season next year (with a bit of luck).

At the level we are now playing at, AND at the level we want to be.... part of the CL elite, we need to always be looking at a) replacing the weakest players and b) if a better player is available, even to replace an already good player (Dzeko or Tevez) we must still give it a lot of thought.

Even Aguero... yes EVEN Aguero is replaceable (and we will have to one day).

Rag is the general term for united fans and if you think Cavani can dribble through a lot of players and score your in for a surprise so there is nothing wrong in what I said

Cavani and Aguero could co-exist without one being the supporting cast.

Aguero and Forlan:

2007/2008: Aguero 27 goals, Forlan 23 goals
2008/2009: Aguero 21 goals, Forlan 35 goals
2009/2010: Aguero 19 goals, Forlan 28 goals
2010/2011: Aguero 27 goals, Forlan 10 goals (Forlan's decline as a player happened this season and he was sold)

That's called a partnership... we've really failed to build one as effective as this with Aguero yet at City. Neither Mario or Dzeko struck the understanding Kun and Forlan did. Tevez and Aguero have a better understanding but are too similar. Now, given our pursuit of Cavani, you feel the club reckons they could form a lethal partnership like Kun's previous one with a Uruguayan.

You still aren't actually reading what you wrote, are you? You said, and I quote
Aguero had a poor season compared to his first but he still produced moments of magic ie united away and that is something Cavani will never be able to do

You said moments of magic, you didn't specify what kind of magic, you just said "magic", I can categorically say, you're wrong.

I said ie united and if you seen the goal you would know what i was talking about

People are making the (understandable) assumption that the ideal partnership would be Cavani and Aguero, but given the number of games we now play, it really has to be a threesome... it's three strikers rotating as necessary, all equal with slightly different skill sets (although Tevez and Aguero remarkably similar).

I don't like this notion of 2 + 1 (3rd striker). That's how Dzeko has been portrayed sadly, which is a little unfair.

Of course I've seen the goal, but again, that still isn't what you said.

So at the start of the day I was very optimistic, now I feeling more like this:

Damn you Chelsea.
