This deal is dead. if it was going to happen it would have happened already and now Chelsea are in the driving seat. i would have taken cavani over the fernandinho transfer any day of the week. although perhaps pellegrini didn't want to blow the budget on one striker instead preferring 2 midfielders
and another one

You really think that was our entire budget, Fernandinho and Navas? No chance, simply because only signing those two players will not win the league. There will be more money being spent, there has to be.

I think some of the posters on here think it is September 10th and not June 10th

sorry i meant three midfielders, with isco coming too it takes total spending to around 75mil plus agents fees and wages on top

Same applies. Those 3 signings won't win us the league, (IMO).

i don't think they will either but i think cavani plus isco would. its the same situation as last year, whoever got RVP was going to win the league and the same can be said about cavani this year. the chairman did say that there was potential for us not to win the league in the first year but he would then expect it in the second

We arent going to accidentally spend all of our money, we have professionals in charge ffs.
They know who they want, what the selling club wants and how much we are WILLING TO/CAN pay for each player to be able to purchase all of our targets.

If we refuse to be taken on a ride by people such as ADL now, then clubs in the future won't bother playing hard ball because we're clearly willing to walk away.

Cavani is an excellent player, is he worth 53 million? Guess we'll find out.

At anything over 35m I'd tell them to do one he's not worth that glad City ate sticking to their guns especially with the Napoli scumbag owner.

i never said we've spent everything by accident, just pointing out that we no longer have bottomless pockets and perhaps Pel / Tixi /whoever doesn't see cavani as good value whereas i think we'd be nailed on for the league if we got him, moreso than signing who we have already.
