I'd happily stick with Dzeko Tevez Aguero and Guidetti as our main 4 next season.
Based on what? Was never his biggest fan, but we still haven't replaced the petulant one yet. United bought RVP to fix what lost them the league, and it worked. We can't go into a season where we are supposed to be fixing what cost us the league without even replacing Balotelli.

sorry i meant three midfielders, with isco coming too it takes total spending to around 75mil plus agents fees and wages on top
We arent going to accidentally spend all of our money, we have professionals in charge ffs.
They know who they want, what the selling club wants and how much we are WILLING TO/CAN pay for each player to be able to purchase all of our targets.

If we refuse to be taken on a ride by people such as ADL now, then clubs in the future won't bother playing hard ball because we're clearly willing to walk away.

Cavani is an excellent player, is he worth 53 million? Guess we'll find out.

i never said we've spent everything by accident, just pointing out that we no longer have bottomless pockets and perhaps Pel / Tixi /whoever doesn't see cavani as good value whereas i think we'd be nailed on for the league if we got him, moreso than signing who we have already.
what I'm pointing out is that valuations are subjective. You may think he's worth that much, txiki may think 40 million is what he's worth to us, maybe less.

If they believed that his signing would single handedly win us the league, they'd probably pay whatever (within reason), but we have a price and we'll have someone else lined up if this falls through.

What cost us the league was playing a passing game at a pedestrian pace.

The fact we have strengthened in the wide area and central midfield will improve us significantly IMO.

Personally I would like Cavani, but don't see it as a disaster if we don't get him.

United have Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck and of course, RVP. We currently have Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko and Guidetti. I believe Dzeko will benefit from the wide players, but despite us having better individual players than the 4 mentioned from United, the fact we effectively only have 3 proven strikers to choose from could be our downfall. If it was Dzeko, Aguero, Tevez and Cavani I see the league going one place and one place only, he would be to us what RVP was to United last season. (IMO)

i think that's what mancini (rightly or wrongly) was saying cost us the league last year, we lost our top targets, ended up with javi Garcia and Sinclair and subsequently lost the league

Of course Cavani would improve us. Also the players we have already bought, and I am sure players we will buy will improve us also.

Who knows what effect the atmosphere in the camp affected us last season. It is very possible that Aguero, Dzeko and Tevez could score over 20 goals a piece with a more atatcking formation.

United lost the out on the title on goal difference. So what does Fergie do? he goes and buys a world class striker / finisher so his teams score more goals, and they went on to win it.

Last year we couldnt take chances, missed clear cut opportunities etc so we NEED to bring in a clinical striker to tuck away all these chances. Cavani's that man and he'll be for us for Van rapist was for them.

Along with the signings of Fernandinho (we lacked drive from the midfield), Navas who will provide that width, direct approach and pace and eith the possible arrival or Isco, thiago, X, Y ,Z etc then we will be building a team, which even with alot of rotation it will be a team battling to win every competition we enter, like Khaldoon said.

That's the way I felt about RVP last year.

I think all transfers have an element of chance about them, clearly more so with Cavani due to the amount of money involved, but with regards to how well he'll performe in the Premiership, after last season I'd rather find that out with him in our team as opposed to Chelsea's.
