Just me who thinks a 20m or so deal for Benteke would be a much better all round deal for us than 50m plus on Cavani?

People talk about the huge inflation in value of guys like Cavani, Falcao etc over recent years and how there will be players available at much cheaper prices ready to take that next step.

Well Benteke certainly won't be just as cheap, but I can see his value rapidly increasing over the next few years. He's got pace, strength, great technical ability, and goals - as he's already demonstrating in both the premier league and for Belgium - a team on the rise where he is the main striker.

At the same time, he's not got the ego Cavani has developed and if he has a couple of poor games he wouldn't create half the fuss should he be rested for a game or so.

It makes both financial sense and footballing sense. Aguero should be our main striker. Benteke is an absolutely excellent alternative.

Spend the cash saved on Isco and an out and out left sided winger. If nobody is available just now, keep the money available for January for any reinforcements we might need then.

This season's Amir Zaki.

Some chatter about possible City interest in Lewandowski over the weekend. Really can't see it myself, much as I really rate this guy.

I'd love to see us sign Lewandowski, not the most clinical striker in the world but he has huge presence. One of the few strikers I've seen really unsettle Kompany.

I'm all for Lewandowski! He'll be cheaper on the books, plus Dortmund would have to accept a £25million pound offer. For me he's technically better than Cavani, excellent with both feet. Dortmund want our very own Dzeko so why not make it a swap deal. Bit strange how we haven't been linked however i think its inevitable that we make a move now that we know they are refusing to sell to Bayern.

*Cheaper
*Younger
*Technically better
*They want Dzeko.

Makes sense

I'm not sure there's any traditional centre forwards about at the minute that are technically better than Lewandowski besides RVTwat.

did the chatter include edin tolm? I was told that we might swap edin for lewandowski??

Swap deals of such a nature are pretty rare.

Sure Dzeko would snap yer hand off for it though!

Watching Lewandowski against Madrid, he surprised me by how clever he was at shifting his feet so quickly inside the penalty area.

Would not be shocked to also see Mourinho have an interest after tearing him a new one and his relatively low price.

Offer Dortmund £20m + Edin, they won't turn that down. Would be up to the lad then.
