It's quite poignant that their greatest ever captain Billy Mcneill was an MBE and his father was a regular member of the British army and not a conscript. There will be lots of Celtic fans past and present who are serving and have served in the British army and they have to witness the crap the vile Green Brigade come out with on a regular basis i despise that club as much as that lot down the East Lancs, two cheeks of the same arse.

Is anyone really surprised?
I wouldn't bat an eyelid if they went out of business tomorrow.
The whole religious pile of shit, the IRA songs, the anti English shit, the lot.
Fuck them, their fans and the sycophantic ex players like Sutton who's voice on these matters will be distinctly absent as "nobody wants to talk about it". Well for me that's tacit complicity so get fucked.
Last time we played them at ours some middle aged bellend with his son ffs sat in our block giving it large to everyone when they scored. Offered several old fellas out who verbalised their opposition to his utterings. DId it eventually to a younger bloke who knocked him on his arse. The stewards then helped him out with his young son training behind him crying his eyes out. What a cock! If that's symptomatic of the rest of their fan base its no wonder the rest of Scotland fucking despise them.
If i was a multi-billionaire id happily charter flights for all their fans to go to EIre if they like it that much and fucking stay there, they're a fucking embarrassment to the UK.
They don't represent Scotland pal at all. They don't class themselves as Scottish.

I suspect, just like their weird cousins liverpool, its become ‘trendy’ for Celtic fans to be this anti establishment cult

I have a pal who was brought up pretty middle class in a stockport suburb who chose to support liverpool in 1984 despite his dad being a blue.
He buys into booing in the anthem and quotes the ‘managed decline of liverpool in the 80s’ , despite having no geographical or family links to the area and lived in stockport all his life

Same with celtic fans waving irish flags, singing pro IRA songs and singing anti establishment/royal songs despite never even been to ireland

Such situations become a ‘thing’

In a way, you have to probably feel a bit sorry for their need to latch on to something to appear relevant in life
That's why so many Home Counties posh boys (and girls) support Liverpool these days. They think they will get some street cred by being associated with a former working class club. They love slumming it when they come up to Anfield for matches but you don't see many of them drinking in the local pubs after the match because they are already back on the train to London. To be fair decent local Liverpool fans (yes there are some) mock this element of their own support.

That's true. The Celtic (and Hibs and Dundee United) fans have done untold damage to Scotland's reputation in the past few weeks not least in Southern Ireland where the Queen is widely respected (even by Sinn Fein) because of her groundbreaking visit to Dublin.

Hearts were the first set of fans in the UK to disrupt the minutes silence for the queen

I didn't know that. It's a shame. I am not a Royalist but have enough empathty to not want to upset those who are. If the scumbags couldn't respect the silence they could have stayed on the concourse which I have actually done in the past for certain ceremonies.
But I really fear for the future of this entire country. There seems to be an upsurge in sectarian and racist hatred everywhere. It is not just confined to the racist bigots in Celtic and Rangers' fanbases. Nor is it confined to the Monarchy isssue. What happened in Leicester over the weekend (Muslim v Hindu) has its route in sectarianism and bigotry. It is fucking depressing that the scumbags are coming to the fore and drowning out the decent majority of people of all races and creeds.

Got a couple of Celtic supporting mates, neither like Liverpool or United, but seem quite pleased to see City doing well.

If you want to hate a club for not having a quiet minutes silence for a monarch who even on here the majority don't support fine.

To be fair it's the straw that broke the camels back, the IRA thing and the hatred of anything English.

Reciprocal mate, purely reciprocal ;)

By the way my Celtic mates don't hate me and I'm English;)

Can you ask them to have a word with their mates explaining that it's looking bad.

To be fair mate we all have cracking Scottish mates after all they are just people like we are, but the sectarian nonsense drives them wild from both sides.

If it's not religion, it's nationality. It's now creeping into other aspects of life too.
Seems intolerance is on the rise worldwide.

Thought it was arrogant of Tony Bloom to think he could ask Ange to fuck Celtic off for mid table PL mediocrity.

There is a lot of second generation liverpool fans who also have absolutely fuck all to do with merseyside.
Sons of twats who chose liverpool in the 70s/80s

Im not sure liverpudlian liverpool fans do mock that element. And if they do they have no room to talk as every single one ive met , and ive met enough, is a fuckin odd fucker when it comes to football

I'm from Scotland and was brought up as a protestant Rangers fan. Lived in England 20 years of my adult life. I've moved back to Scotland and the bigotry I'd have wished it was gone but its not. I would not participate on it on any level. Both sides are bad. I've seen many things through my life in different countries. I regularly go to South Africa and see the affects of Apartheid. Lack of education and forward motion is something the human race struggles with.

“The loudest booing that we’ve seen over the last few weeks for the Queen” before the Scotland game I’ve just read on twitter

Not much talk of it on here surprisingly

The rage must be exclusively for one or two sets of fans when they disrespect the monarchy

You were doing okay as well, up until you got to "decent local Liverpool fans".

Been mentioned on the match thread. Those booing or who have staged protests either tonight or last weekend are basically just pondlife, whatever club they support.

This is what I don't understand as well. There will be Celtic supporters actually in the forces as we speak, a guy I went to school with is currently in the RAF, and there will be many who have lost their lives over the years as well.

I find it as confusing as Rod Stewart. An Englishman who thinks he's Scottish who supports a football team that wants to be Irish. To make matters worse, he's Sir Rod of course, knighted by the Queen, played at her Diamond Jubilee, and congratulated Boris on his Tory win. Celtic fans weren't happy at that, Green Brigade even had a banner that said Fuck off Rod.

Or how about Trevor Sinclair's tweet about racism the other week. He wants to ask Mark Walters about his welcome to Celtic Park.
Wasn’t Mark Walters also racially abused by Rangers supporters?
