Celtic v City post match

We made a shedload of other individual errors which a better team would have exploited.

We have praised the fuck out of Pep & City all season. Tonight, the character was there & we scored 3 goals but some of the players tonight were at Pellegrini level & it shouldn't be ignored.

We will not finish top 4 with that level of defending. Good that it came in a game which is not make or break. We have a few days to improve or we need to score 3 or 4 at Spurs.
That level of defending won't be the norm. We'll win the league, not struggle to finish top four. I agree it shouldn't be ignored when the team make errors. Tbh honest though I expected a tough game and that's what we got. I'll see how the Spurs game goes before throwing the white towel in.

Hang on lets have it right. Their first goal was off side their second was a massive deflection off Sterling and the third was a miss kick. It was one of those nights but we still managed to get something from the game.

By scoring 3 goals & showing character, as I said.

Defending was championship standard. Players involved have previous.

You think it will be like last season with winning our first number of games and then not playing well?

No, because now we have a coach who will coach. Some on here are going to need to get their diazepam prescriptions in sharpish because we're still going to lose the odd game. Main thing will be are we making improvements on the whole. Would put my house on that being the case. Short term results against Liverpool or Arsenal don't change that at all.

If we'd have started with the team that played the last 1/2 hour it would have been a stroll

The mistake tonight was the team selection. Stones should definitely have started. We were far from our best but when you defend like we did you won't win games at any level. We needed 2 full backs last season and we still do.

Thought Fernandinho played like bambi on ice first half, diving in all over the show. But the positive has to be the Raheem Sterling performance. Thought he was absolutely outstanding and took his goal really well. Plus his passing and final ball great too.

11 games in, 10 wins and 1 draw and this place goes into fucking meltdown, as a team we showed more ticker than we ever did last season despite a few playing under par, Celtic were playing the rags pinball football of old, plenty of effort but really nothing skill wise. Distinctly average from Kol, Ferny and Silky, can't see what Sergio did wrong just couldn't get a chance, Sterling was magnificent. Would have taken the point beforehand as I knew this an ambush in the making. No injuries it seems so we move on.

Saying the first was offside is brushing some terrible defending under the carpet though, it wasn't scored because we'd played them offside, it was a shit show that just happened to involve a marginal offside that could have bailed us out. Same for the second, it was an unlucky deflection, but some utterly terrible defensive play to get to that point and the third, although a miss kick, was a sitter laid on by a complete fuck up by Kolarov. They were lucky to score those goals, but all three were shocking defending, to say they were just lucky is being far too kind on our defence and ignores lessons that need to be learned.

Watch them away from home.

I've seen championship sides beat Premier league teams away. Never mind draw at home.

Bang on mate , they played well in front of 60,000 pissed up loud idiots - it's no biggy.

They will be back to playing Hibs away on Saturday - after playing one of there two biggest home games for the next eighteen months.

some fucking tap dancing fannys on here.

did anyone else wonder where zab was when that og went in ?
He'd correctly tucked in. Sterling as much as I love him was at fault- he was slow to recover, jogging back before noticing the danger. Defending as a team tonight was woeful-Fernandinho completely isolated in midfield. Stones needed at the back for an aerial presence- far too may balls left bouncing around. Gundagen still short of full fitness, nolito infuriating cutting in every time. That said we kept in the game, played some good stuff in patches and got stronger as the game went on.

Marginally/debatable
happens
ok/happens
we didn't have that many chances either ... we were poor tonight end of ,whether that was down to celtic or us but we were poor

Perhaps this result will shut up all the arrogant city fans who were saying things like "They're a championship side at best"

Probably not though

most of their players are champion ship level players though and the they've been shit recently. how in anyway is it arrogant saying that. can we not be confident now we win things ?
