If the government want it completing they will need to write to me and say so.

The data is a big help in terms of policy making at national and local level.
 
It will be interesting to see the religion that people put.

Last one in 2011 I put Christian as I was christened but I have never been to a non wedding, christening, funeral church event in my life so put no religion.

There should be a further increase on the number of people who have been labelled as 'Nones'.

These are people around the world who select the option ‘No religion’ in response to census or survey questions about their religious faith. Note that this category may include a diverse range of respondents e.g. those who do believe in God or a higher power but who do not self-identify as being a member of a specific faith, as well as those who simply do not think about religion all that much, if at all, and atheists/agnostics.

This was the category I selected when filling out the form yesterday.

Over in the USA, Gene Simmons, the bassist and co-lead singer of the legendary American rock band Kiss is arguably a ‘None’. In his autobiography he states, ‘Let other people go into trances and think about spirituality. I’d rather concentrate on having something to eat. The here and now.’

Apparently, Paganism was - at least up until recently - regularly reported as being Britain’s fastest growing religious tradition, one that has its roots in the pre-Christian world view that preceded the spread of Christianity to the UK.

Many women who have left Christianity for modern Paganism have said that it fits them better emotionally and intellectually, particularly with its emphasis on eco-spirituality and the valuation of nature, witchcraft, Goddess based spirituality, and the perception of sexuality as a positive, life affirming force. By comparison, Christianity may be seen as a faith which has typically encouraged a negative, guilt-driven, repressive view of both sex and sexuality, especially that of homosexuals and lesbians, even allowing for the recent acceptance of same-sex marriage by some Christian denominations.

The popularity of series like Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which feature powerful female characters in lead roles, also provide modern Paganism with a measure of social support.

I must say that I have never met anyone who has described themselves as pagan. Makes me think of this.





However, one famous example is Julian Cope, the former singer of the Teardrop Explodes.

Far too much personal information which is frankly absolutely none of their business. I didnt complete the last one and I wont be completing this one.

I also have to say that I believe that this is very much part of the ONS job creation scheme. About 5000 people including subcontractors work in Newport, they have to have something to do I supose.
