Persuaded to stay one more year by Pardew, he can bank a few more million and then go for nothing back to San Lorenzo?
Would be a good signing but just can't see it.

He wanted to play for his youth club and they had money to spend last summer. Newcastle wouldn't sell him cause of all the injuries so the club brought in someone else. So they no longer have the money or the open spot for him so the move is no longer a possibility.
I would like to see us sign 2 CB's. 1 veteran and 1 youth. Lescott is off in the summer so we'll need to replace him. Would be good to get a younger guy in now, get his feet wet in some cup games and get him acclimated to the PL so that next season he'll be ready to play "real" games. Demichelis seems like a good choice since he knows MP's system, but I've not really seen him so no clue if he's the goods or not. WOuld like to see us grab Eder Álvarez Balanta a Colombian national from River Plate. 20 year old lefty who's considered a real talent. Not much experience but could be another dimond in the rough like Nasty.

Aren't you forgetting our own 18-year-old lefty who's considered a real talent and could save us millions? :)

yeah but....isn't he on loan for the season and hence unable to save us a few millions right now?

We have to trust them or replace them if we don't, instead of buying more players.

Richards has done his hamstring so he is not around to cover

Ok, but we only need to pick 2 from this list only.
With Yaya and Fernandinho cementing their positions, Garcia and Rodwell should be utilized to cover the CB shortage.

Cobwebcat said:We are being held to ransom now and it's our own fault. With all the planning we did to get our signings in early, and the success of that planning, we have got this one wrong.
Someone somewhere was too certain we would get Pepe and we have followed this dead end longer than the rags followed Fabregas.
It's the final piece of he jigsaw but I'd rather try to get someone in in January than make a panic buy now. Lesson learnt I hope.
Get fit soon Nasty and Komps.

Not being to be funny but those two together would struggle against mediocre competition. They'd get slaughtered against top sides. Absolutely slaughtered.
Both are ok if paired up with Komps - Lescott especially so. But paired together they are fecking clueless. Our strategy with those two at the back has to be to outscore the competition because I dont see any clean sheets with those 2 at the back.
