Re: Cesc Fabregas

Personally speaking I reckon he will be signed and Yaya will be sold. The problem is aligning the two without being burned in transactions. Sell too low, buy to high.

Yaya to PSG will happen but after WC imo

Man City sources say that, despite some rumours this weekend, they will not sign Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas (27) this summer. [md]

We've clearly put out to the press we aren't interested. Still don't see how this transfer makes sense to us to begin with but good to see we've cooled any interest we might have had

I think it might be because Fabregas is a top class player and better than 90% of the midfielders we already have

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Is this Cesc (oh sorry Fabregas) to us rumour based on a picture of him being in London the other day and the fact we have offices there?
That and Yaya's situation going in the mix?
Oh and some mad betting?
And Cesc wanting to leave Barelona?

If thats it I dont know how convincing it is really.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

fabregas in for yaya makes sense on many levels, FFP, homegrown, youger, lower wages, prevent a title rival signing him.....yaya is immense, but age is not on his side, and nor is his attitude. i'd love to see this happen....sadly, i just cant see it.

pretty much spot on imo

over to psg now to put up or shut up. really cant see us having both, so if we do sign cesc, yaya will be on his way.

cesc on his day isnt as gd as yaya on his day, but i think we get more consistency from cesc imo

Chelsea could be the club Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas (27) will join this summer. He would replace Lampard. A deal is close. [md]

If City let that happen I really hope they know what they're doing.

Chelsea is the one club I wouldn't want him joining as they are probably are nearest rivals.

Would it be a travesty if we bought Fabregas for say 35m and were low balled by PSG for Yaya for say 25m? I'd still say that was a fairly good deal considering the other advantages that this deal gives us in terms of the home grown quota

The footballing factor is that Fabregas gives you a performance every single week, it wouldn't be the storming runs and match winning performances that Yaya gives us (on occasions) but in terms of consistently good performances, id have Fabregas in for Yaya every day of the week

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Not sure why Chelsea would want him they have probably the most Midfielders in the top teams. They need 2 strikers and 2 Defenders.

Would make sense

It would make sense in so far as Abramovich thinking that buying every available attacking midfielder in the world will turn Chelsea into Barcelona. Won't make much sense letting him play under Mourinho, nor as a player like Fabregas would I want to even contemplate such an idea. We're suited down to the ground for how Fabregas plays football.

Sorry to make a childish and thread-derailing point, but neutrals calling fabregas 'cesc' irritates me far more than it should.
Why? I'm struggling to remember a time when he wasn't referred to as Cesc, by either the media or football fans generally. I didn't even know his ''proper'' name; I thought it was Francesco. Googled it to find out it's actually Francesc.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

When I think of Mourinho type players, Fabregas is pretty far down the list.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Think were still on for this deal wouldnt suprise me if we av agreed but leave the anouncement till after world cup so we dont get cherry picked by other clubs for our players who are lookin to move n due to ffp.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Sky are the latest media outlet to say we aren't interested in Fabregas, can't see all these stories as being incorrect. Someone is feeding them the info.

Could see in at Chelsea especially if Hazard moves.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Chelsea will want to replace Lampard, they seem to be shopping Oscar around according to the press & also questions of Hazard so would make sense for them. Fabregas also being HG will help them no end too. If we do bring in another attacking mid I think Pellers would prefer to spend the money on Isco.

Pretty sure all our purchases will be defensive ones this season, if we can keep hold of all our attacking players.
