Re: Cesc Fabregas

Well suited to mourinho, remember the snidey little twat spitting at city legend - Brian Horton!

Re: Cesc Fabregas

There's half a case as to why we're not in for him: Silva, Nasri, Jovetic

But I don't really get it.

And why would a footballer who spent a couple of seasons angling for a switch from Arsenal to Barcelona be prepared to move back?

The hardest thing of all t understand is why Man Utd are not in for him. He'd be perfect for them. As for living in London? Is he serious about his football, and if it was lifestyle he wanted, then he'd stay at Barca. Odd all round

Barcelona are forcing him out so he won't be staying at Barca.

United were in for him but from the reports I have seen I am sure I read that LVG doesn't want him.

Out of the top 4 it's seems only Chelsea that haven't turned him down, I know there is Liverpool but I think their money is on Lallana.

Strange signing for Chelsea if it goes through because in my opinion he is not a Mourinho type player, I don't think he will graft like Jose would want you to graft.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Whether this is true or not I love the way Chelsea do their transfers. Identify player, sign player, the end. No fucking about.

UPDATE: According to Voz Populi’s Kike Marin, Cesc has agreed to personal terms with Chelsea and it now comes down to the two clubs to negotiate the transfer fee, which is believed to be around €40 million.

Roman Abramovich signing I bet

If this goes through then that's what I am thinking because I don't see him as a Mourinho type player at all.

Chelsea may want him but I wonder whether Cesc will want the move??
He can be used as striker as well as a midfielder, thats what Mourinho will like.

In the heat of the moment players sometimes do horrible things.
If they regret it and learn it's not a reason to not sign a good player.

You don't say no to Abramovich, not unless you want a concrete overcoat or something adding to your cuppa....

It is surprising as you wouldn't have down as a Mourinho kind of player, although with Lampard and Luiz gone, and Mikel being shite, then I suppose a deep lying playmaker may well suit how he wants to play - Matic and Fabregas in front of back 4.

I sense a little dig at City, why I don't know. City have not been the ones randomly naming players to give the fans a boost. That has been the press.

If last summer showed anything it was we are actually quite effective and efficient when doing our real business

Re: Cesc Fabregas

He would be ideal for us and help us progress in the Champions league. I know we are after a central defender, but when a player such as Fabregas becomes available we should be in for him and maybe buy a cheaper centre back again this summer as a stop gap until next summer. As has been said Yaya isn't getting any younger and has agitated for a move yet again this summer, although his fishing doesn't seem to have got him and his agent any bites !

I can see us chasing Isco or Di Maria in vain when Fabregas is available. Even if we showed an interest and spoke to Barca about signing him it would at least drive up the price for Chelsea or whoever is buying him.

I cannot see him being a Mourinho type of player either, although he is harder working and has more drive than Mata. Maybe Mourinho will be on his way again and Roman will give him the elbow to bring someone like Simeone or Klopp in.

Replacing Milner.

Milner is offski. Has offers on the table from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Factors in about £10m.

Also expect Kolarov to come into the equation for Benatia plus cash.

As things stand, Yaya still not going anywhere and club no intention of selling.

We are going to be unstoppable, Possibly fab!

Sagna and Fernando next few days.

So....if Fabregas is not coming then hopefully the bit about Milner going is also wrong

The Premier League champions want to bring the Barcelona midfielder back to England in light speculation surrounding Yaya Toure's future, but Arsenal are also in the race

By Wayne Veysey

Manchester City are preparing to table a £30 million offer for Cesc Fabregas amid interest from his former club Arsenal, Goal understands.

The Premier League champions have decided to make a formal move for the Barcelona midfielder, who has been told he can leave Camp Nou this summer.

City are ready to bid imminently for Fabregas in an attempt to lure the 27-year-old back to the Premier League, while Goal also understands Arsenal have not ruled out a move for their former captain, with the Gunners closely monitoring his situation.

MAN CITY LATEST
The Londoners are preparing to put together a package to compete with City in the race for the midfielder, who remains on good terms with manager Arsene Wenger despite effectively going on strike to force through his transfer to Barcelona in 2011. There is also interest from Liverpool and Chelsea, who are in the market for a central midfielder after Frank Lampard confirmed he is leaving the club.

Goal revealed in May that Barcelona would listen to offers for Fabregas this summer as they looked to free up funds to reshape their midfield.

Barca and their new manager Luis Enrique are looking to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke and have told Fabregas he can find a new club.

Under the terms of the buy-back clause in Fabregas' Barcelona contract, the Catalan club would have to inform Arsenal of any bid for the player and give them the opportunity to match it.

City are ready to make the first move for Fabregas amid growing uncertainty over the future of Yaya Toure, who has made it clear he is not entirely happy at the Etihad Stadium.

Wenger also remains a huge admirer of Fabregas and is weighing up a move for his former protege despite appearing to have a wealth of technically adept attacking midfielders in his squad. The pair spoke regularly on the phone last summer about the Spain international returning to the club where he blossomed into one of Europe's outstanding young midfielders.

The Barca academy graduate is at a crossroads in his career as he enters the final two years of his contract with the Catalan club in July.

Fabregas was jeered by home supporters during Barcelona's 2-1 home victory over Athletic Bilbao in April and became a scapegoat for fans towards the end of last season.

First off, i think that Milner is underrated and is worth atleast 12-15m and 2nd we do not need more midfielders, even if Fabregas i amazing we have enough and should focus the rest of our FFP money on a central defender.

I think Milner is definitely underrated and is also worth what we paid for him, although the low residual contract length is a factor. I am probably a lone voice, but I would be more than happy with Fernando, Sagna and Benatia, and then keeping Jimmy and not getting Fabregas
