We're not getting rid of Milner, he wants to leave and has 12 months remaining in his deal, it is not about more money for him.

Likewise, Kolarov has 12 months remaining and Roma are very keen.

As for a right midfielder, Fernando, Fabregas and Fernandinho more than cover.

We will have plenty of incoming money to cover the bases.

Yeah sorry Tolm, should have phrased it better. If Kolarov is leaving then who do you expect to replace him at left back? Perhaps a late bid for Shaw/Moreno?

Just because Roma want Kolarov, doesn't mean it will happen.

He seems happy enough here and a new contract has been mooted.

It depends entirely on how much we want Benatia, because we don't have the cash flow for him and Fab.

Ah, cheers for the info TH. What was looking like a drab transfer window due to FFP just got interesting..

So it's on ?

I think it's we're certainly in for him. This is a difficult transfer because of the Arsenal factor. Bottom line if they do come in, he will go there. I suspect City won't want this to drag out and will finalise it pre W/C. If it goes beyond that then I think we won't be involved.

Gooners aren't interested, we've got a free run

Would love to see Piers Morgan's face at the community shield when Nasri and Cesc start passing the ball into their net for fun.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Sheikh Mansour went to Spain in his Honda Jazz,
Brought us back a midfielder,
Cesc Fabregas

Sign fabregas and we won't need a defence :)

We do mate. If we sign the expected players we only need to generate £20mil in sales - easily covered by Richards, Guidetti, Sinclair, Milner.

Hmm I'm not sure TH, nothing personal with you but if we were getting rid of Milner and Kolarov and replacing them with players that play in different positions then surely we will also have to sign a new left back and and right midfielder?

Word is we definitely don't want Moreno and Liverpool are pushing ahead so I can see him going there.

It's interesting the Kolarov situation. Statistically he's been excellent and on many levels was a key player for us with him providing heavy assists in the way that Edin scores heavy goals.

Maybe this is the reason that the Shaw situation has stalled for United ? Otherwise it'll be fascinating to see who they bring in because if Kola goes there will defo be an incoming LB.
Ben Davies anyone?

Re: Cesc Fabregas

I'm going to keep my cool on this as we all know how drawn out these things can be and as much as we want deals done fast it just sometimes doesn't happen that way.

It's encouraging though :)

Garcia/Rodwell could be thrown in there too given we are potentially signing two new CMs and keeping Yaya

And we can't sign Benatia and Fab and then hope we can recoup monies through selling players. That way we'd get absolutely shafted in the market as clubs would know our position.
