Cesc Fabregas signs for Chelsea (page 190)

Re: Cesc Fabregas

The 2 journo's in question dont exactly have a hot line to the City decision makers.

Lets not forget that Mr Ladyman was touted as an FFP expert who recently said he couldnt understand why City never sold out their games.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

The Spanish journos probably get their information from Barcelona - who want to drum up selling Fabregas

The English journos probably (try to) get their information from Manchester City - who want to keep things quiet.

Fabregas leave the club this summer to join Manchester City. The transfer will mean the return of Catalan football to the Premier League after three seasons at the Catalan club.

The signing , which amount is not known yet and probably will be announced after the World Cup in Brazil , open a door to bring new players to the team of Luis Enrique , since it would increase the amount that the club can invest in remodeling team . A fact negligible when you consider that the club Aristides Maillol are pending the decision of the FIFA sanction , which could prevent it from acquiring new recruits next year.

Another issue is the possible connection with the transfer of the interest Fàbregas , rumored on more than one occasion , and quite strongly in the days prior to the renewal of Messi , in signing Sergio Kun Agüero , Manchester City property .

Remember that the Arsenal has an option of first refusal on a possible sale of Cesc Fabregas. Arsène Wenger, who recently spoke with Darren Dein , Fàbregas representative , was interested in Barca repescar 4 , but the economic power of the City will make the player Arenys play next season at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Lady-man, maybe Rodgers is creating a conflict of interest here? There's teeth to this story yet...

The northern press pack are revealing the same info, they are usually briefed by City.

It never made any sense to me and I stand by what I said - Fabregas would be a luxury signing. I'm happy with just Fernando added for our midfield and focus on our defence.
It is looking unlikely, but I'd prefer Fabregas in midfield to a centre-back. We have Nasty and Rekik to come into contention and Demichelis improved in the 2nd half of the season.

So you'd have 4 top class central midfielders but only 1 definite top class central defender (Demichelis has been great, but he's really old now and there are no guarantees he'll hold his level next season)? We have always seemed heavy in some departments, weaker in others, an unbalanced squad. And a bona fide top-of-the-line central defender will benefit us so much more than yet another midfield option (remember, we're already signing Fernando, one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe). Kompany/top defender/Demichelis/Nastasic would be an outstanding balance and I'm convinced that is what the club sees too, hence the pursuits of prolific defenders.
I'm not sure.

It doesn't look like the two defenders we targeted are available. And our defence is not as weak as some think. Hart, Kompany, nasty all missed a lot of games. And Rekik has the age and experience now. Our 1st choice midfield is brilliant, but no depth. I think if we signed Fabregas, we'd have an awesome array of attacking talent in midfield and attack that would mean that we'd be even stronger domestically but we might get caught out one if Nastasic etc get caught one on one with a Messi etc

I am telling you Benatia deal is still very much live and kicking...
