Cesc Fabregas signs for Chelsea (page 190)

Re: Cesc Fabregas

I'm keeping tabs on skybet prices because we all know bookies rarely get it wrong.Especially sky's!!!!
1.they have him 1/5 to leave barca (so that's definite)
2.city have been cut from 16/1 to 6/4 favourites to buy him in the last 2 days (very fishy)
3.arsenal prices fluctuating up and down but seem to be closest rivals for him
4.chelsea price has just come in to a very similar price to arsenal (replacing Lampard)
For what it's worth I think it's a done deal.
And a very good one at that.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Arsenal are the only club who have an agreed buy back price of £30m.

Any other club which comes knocking, Barca can put their own figure on it. Arsenal are also entitled to a percentage of the profit Barca make over £30m.

I would not doubt Ladyman or Danny T's integrity, and I am sure they are passing on what they have been told. The fact they Tweeted so late also tells you one thing, they were on their heels from the desks.

The only thing real in this is City's interest from Txiki.

We have a lot of our hand revealed, sadly, due to the market constraints put on us this summer.

It is not in City's interests, whatsoever, to declare themselves in or out on Fabregas.

The Yaya situation, will not help matters, nor the ongoing disputes over players with less than 12 months remaining on contracts.

Arsenal are saying they are not interested, but again, I'm not convinced.

They would gain huge PR and political kudos by sticking it to City, by beating us to Fabregas.

Like us, their midfield compliment is stocked with quality.

We have also negotiated with Benatia, but nobody is on the official record from City or Roma that there is even an interest?

If Fabregas does have Arsenal as an option, then I don't think even Txiki can win that one?

Looks like hard summer for City.

Not if you believe Khaldoon.

We are behind the eight ball as soon as clubs are able to start totting up our summer spend.

It's the biggest factor.

Every team who wants our players would be able to low ball us right up to transfer deadline day.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Does anyone else believe that Pellegrini has learnt from the second half of the season and realise he's not going to win it playing the 4-4-2 which was devastating at home but poor away at the start?

I can see Fabregas sitting behind Aguero and shifting Silva back to left mifield. Nasri right side with Ferna / Yaya behind. Fernando / Navas / Jovetic for cover with Milner departing. Maybe a striker will depart too leaving enough cash to buy Benatia.

I can see us sticking with Demichelis for another season if we are priced out of centre halves, as long as Nastasic gets fit.

Either way I think the addition of Fabregas would leave us fucking devastating going forward

#MCFC adamant they're not after Fabregas. With #MUFC not in for him either, he won't be pitching up in Mcr bar a dramatic turn of events

Manchester City are not interested in signing Cesc Fabregas and are adamant that Sergio Aguero will stay at the club, a source told ESPN.

Aguero, City's 28-goal top scorer, had been linked with Barcelona, with his father Lionel del Castillo saying he would "love" to go to the Nou Camp.

And reports suggested Fabregas - who has also been linked with a return to Arsenal - could head to the Etihad Stadium in part-exchange for the striker.

But City insist that Aguero will not be going anywhere and they have no intention of bidding for Fabregas, regardless of whether the deal involves the Argentine.

Fabregas is set to leave Barcelona this summer after three seasons at his hometown club, with Barca having reportedly set a £30 million asking price.

He was a target for Manchester United last year and has scored 42 goals in 151 games since leaving Arsenal for £35m in 2011.

Fabregas established a reputation as one of the Premier League's best attacking midfielders during his time at Arsenal, for whom he scored 57 goals in 303 games.

However, the former Barcelona player Yaya Toure has been prolific in the same role for City, scoring 24 times this season, and they remain determined to keep the Ivorian despite a bizarre stand-off over his 31st birthday with the player's agent.

Aguero, who celebrated his 26th birthday on June 2, has been consistently linked with a return to Spain since he joined from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

But, like Toure, he signed a four-year contract in 2013, committing him to City to 2017 and manager Manuel Pellegrini has always maintained Aguero is happy and that he does not want to sell the striker.

Aguero scored 28 goals last season and has struck 75 times in his three years in England to make him a key player for City. Even Del Castillo admitted he thought City would make it "impossible" for his son to leave.
