It really isn’t more interesting. The top 24 reach the knockouts, so many games will be dead rubbers and big clubs will need to lose 5/6 to go out.

Surely it has to be better than the group stage format. It gets boring being drawn against the same clubs home and away 2 or 3 years on the trot and then playing the last 2 matches with not much to play for sometimes.
