Happy with that. Thought the draw was more entertaining and our matches are the perfect balance of glamorous but winnable!
It’s bollox mate as the whole point is that teams can get knocked out if they don’t perform . It’s just another nail in the head of traditional football .So am I right in thinking this new format almost guarantees all the big teams are through to the last 16 eventually? Unless they massively fuck up? One of the big guns could quite conceivable go out in the old group stage, but now it's almost impossible for them to miss out?
Correct.so we know who we play but not the order we play them yet?
Is Inter match day 1, Paris match day 2 and so in?
Disagree, the teams intent on winning it will want to finish top 4 at least in the league phase to avoid each other until the semis. Also none of the top teams will want an extra two matches in February if they finish outside the top 8.It really isn’t more interesting. The top 24 reach the knockouts, so many games will be dead rubbers and big clubs will need to lose 5/6 to go out.
Its been designed to reduce the number of shock exits and keep all of the big boys in the competition until at least the first knockout round.
