What UEFA fail to realise is that even if they have fixed it which im sure they havent, but even if they had, Madrid, Ajax and Dortmund are teams we want, its our second year in the champs league and i for one want madrid and ajax i dont want a group against no mark fc. This is a new experience for us still and were still living in dreamland and now we get to go to madrid and watch city v real, who wouldve thought it ten years ago, plus we still should get through which is even better! enjoy it
Getting the hardest group possible two years in a row, definitely bad luck. Suspiciously bad some would say and more so when you look at UEFA's opinion of you.

Ignoring that though, why would you want a group this hard? With an easier group you get to second round, where you should win. Then you get to play Madrid or Dortmund too. Except then you get a lot more money, a lot more prestige and it's a bigger occasion.

Having a very hard midweek match from the get go is really going to stretch your squad.

Im pretty sure that 'getting to the second round and getting alot more money' isnt really on our minds at this stage, were not exactly short of cash. Weve got a tough group there is no doubting that but look at the destinations, id rather go to amsterdam than romania thanks very much, plus ajax and dortmund may well be champions of their respective leagues but if you compare their squads with ours you could argue this group will be a walk in the park

We may not be short of cash, but in terms of Twatini's FFP shite hampering our progress, I'd be willing to bet our owners were very much looking at getting to the 2nd round and getting a lot more money. The other thing this shitbox of a draw does, is prevent us from resting any of our best players whatsoever, whilst Taggart will be able to field the effing youth team for at least 3 of theirs.

Re: Champions League Draw

This is exactly why we signed Richard Wright.

An experienced keeper to lead us on to victory at the Bernabeu...

Can anyone explain why the Romanian, Belarus, (poor) teams were not allowed to be drawn in citys group? They were immediately allocated to easy groups... Serious question

I think if they were put in our group it would have left 2 teams from same country in other half of draw.

If that cluj were put in ours instead of rags then dortmund would have been on same side of draw as munich.

Thats all I can think of.....

easy we were in the oven and they were in the fridge. no gloves....easy for mcminimum.

Re: Champions League Draw

Really sad not to have Cluj, a town I know well. I had the trip all sorted, know the twon, have two daughters ready to go, one of whome is fluent in Romanian and then bloody Dortmund get forced on us. Actually CFR Cluj are no pushover - they knocked out Basle to get through to the group stages and we all know what Basle did last year.

its done purely in the hope that we dont progress and hence earn mega dosh, that way the ffp can be implemented sooner in order to harm us.

please please you lentil eating tree huggers dont come on here and say i'm paranoid.

year in year out the rags get gifted and we get shafted.

paranoid-we have only been in it 2 years!!

Well great that you would rather go to Amsterdam than Romania, but there are many great places to visit.

You may not be short of money, but with the FFP laws, getting more money makes it a lot easier to spend money. Considering your transfer window this season, getting more money would be very important.

The last point is horrific. I don't know much about Ajax, but I watched plenty of Dortmund. They are the German champions. They have won back to back championships. They beat Bayern three times last year and won the double. They are going to cause you all sorts of problems. Reus, Gotze, Lewondoski and Guendogan. If I was a fan I would not be disappointed if City failed to qualify and look at it as a chance to win the league.
