Champions League Final Liverpool v Spurs

Best team in the competition. They lost 4 games. Fair play they won it.
Wouldn't go as far as say well deserved. After watching the match wouldn't
have said that if Spurs had won.

They beat all those 4 teams who defeated them, at Anfield, including overturning a 3-0 against Barca. Plus the 3-1 at Allianz is a fantastic result. Who do you think was a better side than Liverpool in this competition?

Don't think there was a stand out side. Lot of sides who were average, compared to their best and as we know
anything can happen in cup football. Ajax played some great stuff and then got turned over by Spurs.

They won the best knockout cup comp there is, good luck to them, and yes of course would have liked to win it but a bit of perspective. ..This was 2nd v 4th, combined 90 years for both since being champions of their own league.
"Champions of Europe"...that's a stretch. That's like saying the FA Cup winners are the Champions of England, ridiculous, except of course when teams do the double or treble ;-)
Winning a true League, 38 games home & away, requires sustained excellence, consistency, and toughness in the face of adversity. It's the ultimate prize, they know it even though they won't admit it.
They may be celebrating today but not as true Champions. If & when we win it, we win it as reigning English champions , not fucking 5th (2005) or 2nd (2019).

Believe me, not winning the League hurts them more and there is a big Sky Blue elephant in the room to haunt them

What can you say?
The best team won that game.

Am I correct in stating that when there has been a UEFA final with 2 teams from the same country, that their domestic league positions have rang true and proven that the better team has won?

Spurs were going to have to pull an almighty rabbit out of the hat to win it.
When they were awarded and scored that penalty in the first minute, Liverpool just went into containment mode and Spurs struggled to create a single worthy chance.

A poor showcase final for UEFA and the Premier League.
Can't think of a worse final, maybe that time Steaua or was it Red Star Belgrade?
Whatever, it was turgid stuff.

Many teams will be thinking they should have got to that final and won it, Barca, Ajax, Juve, City etc.

That game just proved that it's just a knock out cup and that anyone can get to the final with a bit of luck along the way.

Liverpool will be delighted with the victory, but they still have the knowledge that there is a better team than them just 35 miles down the road.

We stopped them doing the CL and PL double. :-)

And the in the process we did the domestic double, treble, and quadruple.

But that won’t matter to Liverpool fans, because they, along with media, will try and convince everyone that Liverpool are the best team in Europe. And that Big Ears, as they call it, ‘is’ the most prestigious club trophy in Europe, if not in the World. When in reality it’s a glorified cup competition, open to the top 4 domestic league clubs, a club that wins the EL, and is a cup that is run, manipulated, and fixed by one of the most corrupt sporting organisations in the World.
