Champions League Final Liverpool v Spurs

They might be giddy with their cup win against a side that had to rely on the misuse of VAR to shaft us, but in the saloon bars in the deepest and darkest fastnesses of that shit hole called Liverpool they will be muttering to each other that they would gladly swap this pot for a PL title!
A scouser who went over said exactly that to me last week. He thought we would swop our title for the champions league, I put him straight there!

Were that to happen the RDAHMeedya would put a completely different spin on it. It would not be Champions of Europe but the winners of Europe's premier knock-out trophy, after overcoming a poor Madrid, Barca, Inter, PSG, Dog&DuckFC side.
A right team of dirty b@stards that Dog&DuckFC...:)

Sorry. We should have done better.

Really disappointed about how bad we were and it was a missed opportunity. We lived up to the media expectations of us.

And yes. Kane should not have played.

The result shows Liverpool were better but, fucking hell, Klopp's masterful tactical plan to concede possession and rely on set-pieces and long balls seems at best odd. A League One side playing at your place in a cup game would have been proud of that.

Of course, we must be gracious in defeat.

So fuck off Liverpool. You and your fans are disgusting. If that is what European Champions look like we should all give up football.
You forgot playing for hand ball decisions.

I will be straight with you, I have no love whatsoever for spurs, but decisions like that are not good for us either.

Whoever wins the league are the champions of England .
Whoever wins the champions league are the champions of Europe .
People should really get over it, if say next season City came 4th (I hope not !) And we win the champions league , we will be champions of Europe weather anybody like it or not.
The club shop will stock champs of Europe t shirts and will bloody well wear one to piss of my Utd and Scouse mates and I have plenty .
So I won't become a hypocrite sorry.

That is the problem with the whole competition you don't have to be champions of your country to win it. It should be just for the all the champions to compete.
I'd be happy enough if we never win it for reason I won't go in to.
The competition, the organisation is corrupt and designed to protect the elite.
And as I am not a hypocrite myself if we did win it after finishing 4th I'd put it beneath the charity shield by some distance.

So you would class Chelsea 2012 and Liverpool 2005 as the best team in Europe on those occasions? The way I see it if you don’t win your league either the season before a champions league trophy or the same season then you are a bit lucky, like a lot of knockout tournament winners.

For me, the current format is better than the old European Cup. The standard and quality is much higher, and its shown in the games this season, bar the final. Yes, its easier to qualify for, but tougher to win.

Current format could be done with champions from all countries too. And it might have still still be interesting as clubs from those countries would make money too. Groups, than 1/8 finals etc, etc.. only with different clubs. QUality would drop initially but with time it would be more equal game.

It won't be interesting, most games would be one sided batterings. The odds of the champions of Malta, Slovenia, Cyprus, etc, beating teams like City or Barcelona is far too great. You only have to look at Liverpool's drubbing of Maribor a few years ago, and Legia Warsaw being hammered 6-0 at home to Dortmund, and that is the risk it will become. The gulf between those teams and the ones in "smaller" leagues is too much for a competitive tournament.
