Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

The WTF moment was not confined to City ranks. I think the whole of football cried WTF in unison. If it had worked the Pep eulogies would have been written for months, and rightly so. As I said previously, it was a high risk strategy.
Good lad u r for an opposition fan. At least we took one title off you, we now have the most famous tinker man manager in football history

One day we will play you with a full strength side and it should be a very good game. Mind you by the start of next season I think you will be a significantly strengthened side

Thanks for the warm welcome lads. This is probably the best club forum I've seen, both in terms of numbers of members and general level of sanity.

I will defo come back from time to time to say hello, although will be careful not to outstay my welcome, being a Chav c*nt :)

I do think our two clubs have more in common with each other than with the other big English clubs. The way we are run, the unity within the club, and, very importantly, the colour!

Anthony Taylor: Seems I inadvertently picked the worst ref comparison it's possible to pick on a City forum. It all makes sense now - Taylor is a Utd fan, he takes great joy in fucking over Chelsea, but ultimate joy in fucking over City. Apologies lads. Should've done my homework. I just hate Anthony Taylor.

City 1-3 Us, 2016 Prem: I remember that game well, although I must admit I didn't recall who the ref was. As above, it all makes sense now. David Luiz got away with murder, probably shouldn't have been on the pitch at the end, and probably wishes he wasn't on the pitch at the end due to Aguero's slightly mistimed tackle, which resulted in a fair bit of handbags at the end. To say we rode our luck that day might just be the understatement of the year. City missed a hat-full, with Kev hitting the bar from from six yards out. Gary Cahill opened the scoring with one of the most creative OGs you'll see before we did, tbf, score three very decent counter attacking goals. It was, in the final analysis, daylight robbery at the Etihad.

Pep: He's the best manager of his generation. He's a trailblazer, a formula maker. As such he sometimes gets it wrong, but I'd say those times are far outweighed by the times he not only gets it right, but progresses the tactical aspects of the game to an extent that he's copied by everyone. I personally love him, and am aware that our own TT is the most 'Guardiolista' of the current German managers. TT has been a Pep fanboy for years, studying every Barca game, and probably every City game too. Pep will win the CL with City imho.
Welcome to u and fair play to Chelsea seem to have our number at the moment.
Think we are in for some interesting battles over the next few seasons.Between us we can boil the piss of Scum ,Dippers and Arsenal.

I was just starting to get over it when I went on the transfer forum and the ad at the top of the page was for Chelsea CL Winners t shirts at a bargain price of $34 :(

Did Fern play in the F A cup semi v Chelsea

He did indeed. And with Rodri next to him, furthermore. Just watched their goal in that again. The entire defence seems to be running through treacle. They are absolutely outpaced. And I don't want to get on Mendy's case again — what's needed to be said probably has been, ad nauseam — but he actually appears to slow down behind Ziyech. Must be an optical illusion, I suppose. Whatever, the other three appear to be angry with him.
Another thing: ball over the top and between the two central defenders which Ziyech should have scored a second from, which is eerily similar to the one for Havertz in the CL game (except that that's on the floor).

In huge games would bacon face have benched Keane? Wenger benched Viera? I’m still so f****d off at Pep. In his pre-match talking about enjoying the wine and the bbq and if we lose hey ho we’ll be sad for a few days - as though it’s no big deal. No apology, no admitting it was a huge f**k up on his part.

5 Days after the CL Final and still feelin seriously frustrated and pissed off with that defeat. I‘ll still support Pep but he has lost my trust now and I’ll be waiting for another fck up from him when It gets serious again. He’s spunked the FA Cup off for no good reason when the quad looked a massive possibility with the league all but sewn up. I thought his Lyon fuck up was something he got wrong and would learn from. But his Ego again got the better of him and he couldnt help himself trying to make it all about him and his tactical genius. Having Sterling in and no holding CM in a game of such magnitude defies all common sense or logic. The team that beat PSG would beat Chelsea 9 out of 10 times and I just cannot get my head around what Pep did in that final, Rodri and Dino must be asking questions about it. The players were confused and it showed in the way Chelsea had several good chances in the first half.

Tbh he fucked me off on day one with the way he canned Hart to bring in Bravo and over the years he does really stupid things and never holds his hands up. I’ll never feel the gratitude I did to Mancini. Pep has won but so he should, he’s been backed to the hilt.
