From what I have heard this isn’t far off the mark . They (Portuguese) really don’t want fans travelling independently in these numbers.


I think from what I’ve been told the fans travelling independently is the issue and lots of discussions have been had about it today. Clubs/Portuguese/Uefa

When was Portugal announced? About a week ago? How are they still only here.

The announcement said flights and transfers. Maybe some will fly into Lisbon and then coach to Porto.

I can only assume that the club and Chelsea have been ordered to say nowt. For both clubs to stay silent smacks of a cover up and an agreement with uefa. As some no mark once sang 'This joke isn't funny anymore'

I don't know what the problem is but my guess would be they're still trying to sort out something about tickets for the fans who have travelled independently. My understanding is they will get some tickets but the Portuguese want the vast majority to go to the fans on the club flights that they can keep bottled up.

But I reckon they'd need 25-30 planes for the club trip, on top of the ones already going. I can't see how Porto airport would be able to handle the incoming flights or stand all of them for the day.

It makes no sense anyone is worried about independent travelers. They have tested negative within 72 hours of arrival and have fulfilled all the rules set down by the UK & Portugal

I'm hoping that they say that all Independent travellers will be allocated tickets regardless of loyalty points or being on the cup scheme.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's what Portugal want too.

Or the fact that they have just agreed to have a load of tourists come there. Does anyone know where the sponsors bubble is going to be, I might want to tell Santander why I am closing my bank account; seriously though the sponsors had a great pr opportunity to tell uefa for this year to put the fans first (as per ESL right!) and have the game at wembley I'm sure those same sponsors could have found plenty of clients/staff in the UK to take their share of tickets

Maybe Portugal are worried about allowing thousands of fans on the beer for a couple of days without tickets, while telling their own citizens to follow different guidelines?
