Anyone used the Holafly eSIM?

Have you activated the Holafly QR code on the other device with a QR code scanning app on your mobile or with the mobile phone camera stated on the Holafly website? Thanks.

Worth just clarifying something on this point...

If you're paying in a shop/bar/restaurant/wherever with a card, and it gives you the option to pay in local currency or in GBP, always accept the local currency as your bank will give you a much more pure exchange rate.

However...

If you're withdrawing money from an ATM, be wary about accepting their exchange rate.
It shouldn't be too much of an issue if its an ATM in/outside a bank, but if its a random standalone ATM they will likely offer you a shite exchange rate.
It's a bit sneaky because you can reject this exchange rate, but most people tend to think it then rejects the withdrawal so they just accept the crap rate because it's not obvious.

In short...
Paying for goods with a card? Accept local currency rate.
Withdrawing money from an ATM and it offers you the chance to accept/reject their conversion rate? Reject it.

What if it doesn’t offer any option when paying for goods? Which option does it default to.
Thanks

Madrid, funnily enough. At a family wedding, was the earliest I could leave without being in serious trouble rather than slight trouble.
We fly into IST at 17:10 too should be enough time jumping straight in a taxi to Taksim square dump our bags couple of pints then taxi to the ground.

Exchange rate continuing to go in our favour. Over 26 lira to the pound now. Admittedly not great for the locals.

Got a friend over in Turkey who owns a property there. She said although the exchange rate is good, actual prices for goods are a lot more expensive.

The Mrs says sign up to Pegasus BolBol and you can check in online now. Any problems let me know.
I've registered for bolbol but not letting me check in until 24 hours before.
May be because I didn't buy from them directly

are we in agreement the best/cheapest option for phones is to get an esim? With airalo being the cheapest and easiest option for esims?

By fanzone, are we talking one right outside the stadium or is this the one thats an hour away by shuttle bus?
The fanzone is outside the ground, the shuttle bus drop off points are labeled as fan hubs. Fanzone will serve alcohol, (very likely to be heineken only given they're sponsors) Fan hubs are purely a bus drop off point, uefa have said there will be nothing there

Pegasus / Pegasus Bol Bol -clearly states earliest on line check in is 72 hours before flight. has anyone successfully checked in on line before this 72 hour window. can't see how?

Will a taxi from Taksim square about 8pm be enough time ?
I wouldn't leave it that late mate. Stadium is 45m away and Istanbul traffic is notoriously shit. Plus UEFA have warned that road closures round the stadium mean taxis won't be able to get anywhere close - could be up to a 60m walk after getting dropped off. Then there's 2 layers of security checks to get through...

A couple of random questions anyone can confirm please? Firstly will the same plug adaptors that work in Spain snd France also work in Turkey or is there a specific Turkish adaptor? Secondly we have quite a quick turnaround on connecting flights home, does anyone provide insurance against having to rebook flights in the event of a missed connection?
I have been looking at insurance if we missed the flights home because of delays. Staysure seem to be the best.

I’d be very wary about getting taxis. Last time I was in Istanbul I ended up getting out and walking the last mile as it was gridlocked and we were going nowhere.
Last taxi I got in Istanbul ended up with police having to intervene as we argued over the price and the fact that the driver seemed to want to kill himself and take us with him!

Just checked in online for my 2 Pegasus flights. Both internal. Got boarding passes emailed and text and added to apple wallet

Just a heads up for anyone planning getting a Taxi, I’ve been told that the security perimeter around the ground will only allow cars or Taxis through if they have permits (from UEFA corporate) to enter the roads leading to the stadium, where you would end up bailing out of the taxi will be at least a 45-50 minute walk to the first ticket cordon for activating your ticket.
