I usually take a few shoelaces from unused shoes to tie up. Works a treat. Then speak to the stewards where it can be placed once inside

Bear in mind it’s max 2m by 1.5m
 
Just a word of warning for anyone using an Airalo E-Sim.

It didn't give me Internet access straight away when I landed a SAW Istanbul and I couldn't connect to the airport WiFi because it sends you a code via SMS or email and with no data I couldn't access either.

It was working however when I got up this morning.

It may have been a delay only yesterday and you might not have any issues but I did so just something to keep in mind when wanting to book taxi etc using the app or use Google maps as soon as you land.
 
Where is best place to exchange money over there? Is the Istanbul airport rate decent or worth waiting?
 
Finding the people really pleasant and helpful so far. I grew up on midnight express but not sure I'll be watching it again to be honest, you can't be calling them a nation full of pigs

We're staying in uskudar but are in Sirkeci currently to see the blue mosque. Beers v expensive - 8 quid for a 'big' (normal) one! I think sorkeci might be a pricey area though? Not sure where people are heading to later (preferably somewhere that isn't eight quid a pint!)?
 
Where is the bus station after exiting SAW Airport?

Still not decided whether to get a bus or a taxi.

That's bollocks. They are actually opening the fanzones eight hours early, shuttle buses start taking people nine hours before ko but nobody is seriously going to stand outside for that length of time in the sun drinking shit beer. But we can all thank a certain set of supporters for all this caution and we know why.

There’s only six hours drinking time anyway as they stop 2hrs before ko. At the Hammers game they had tents to sit under so hopefully we get the same and so we are probably going there directly from the airport, there’s not enough time to mess going into the city I don’t think.
