I agre with your initial but have to disagree where you then protect Jota. Exact same instance, different outcome from the ref, after having to be told how to act.Greizmann had his boot face height, the instant you do that you're asking for a red card and can have zero complaints at receiving one the second you make contact. It's as stonewall as they come, there's no debate around it.
They wasn't the same. The Liverpool one, Hermoso looked at him, then deviated from his running line in order to initiate contact, ran straight into him deliberately leaning into his path and bundled him over. Clear foul. The Atletico one they are in close proximity already, both running in their natural line with no deviation and there's tussling with one another. there's contact but the Atletico player has thrown himself to the ground unnaturally. There was nowhere near enough contact for that to happen naturally. Its debatable whether it's still a foul or not, but I assume the ref has seen that on replay as the Atletico player milking it and I find it very hard to disagree with that. Its a disease in the game and the more that's done to discourage it the better in my eyes.
They were not. This is factually incorrect. Jota is BEHIND him. Shoulders him in the back -- leans into him -- presumably to throw him off.2nd one Side by side, Atletico player feels Jota and throws himself over. Nowhere near enough contact for that type of reaction. Everything that is wrong with the modern game that.....
Jota flattened for the first!! No idea what the defender was thinking, pillock!!
I've no issue with anybody that thinks it's a penalty, its a debatable one and I can see why you'd think it was. in my eyes, looking at it as neutrally as possible he's thrown himself to the ground and that blatent attempt to cheat has likely cost him what may have been a legitimate foul. I think its probably too soft for a penalty and have zero problems with the ref not giving it if he's decided the player has tried to cheat. Pity it had to be to liverpools benefit but that behaviour needs punishment.I agre with your initial but have to disagree where you then protect Jota. A clear push in the back and then a tangle of legs (who’d have done that), should be a penalty when a player is on goal, just like the previous penalty in the same game.
Slight edit.Dias makes him look like Frank Spencer
So where was the yellow then? It hasn't been anywhere game-wide (to my great chagrin) but then the ref ruled it by process of elimination a coming together. Which it wasn't.I've no issue with anybody that thinks it's a penalty, its a debatable one and I can see why you'd think it was. in my eyes, looking at it as neutrally as possible he's thrown himself to the ground and that blatent attempt to cheat has likely cost him what may have been a legitimate foul. I disagree with you saying its exactly the same. whether you think they're both penalties or not, they're not exactly the same incident, there's key differences.
