Champions League Matches | Semi-Finals | 30 April, 1/7/8 May '24

I agree.

Isn't it the Copa Del Rey final that often falls right before or in between the Champions League quarters? all teams in La Liga get that weekend off, except those in the final. Little things like that help for sure.

Why would the PL care though?
You've hit the nail on the head.

Unfortunately we'll never see the Premier League help out the English sides in Europe, If anything they'll happily throw on more games at more stupid times.

I've seen so many people saying "This isn’t going to happen"...

More fool them, Whoever thinks this proposition isn't going to be fulfilled in the future may think again.

It's going to happen.
It absolutely will, especially as there is now a critical mass of American owners in the league, who would flog their own mothers if it meant a 0.4% increase in net revenue and increased shareholder value.

really wanted Pep to catch up to Ancelotti to be also 4x time CL winner 2x with City but it looks to go the other way and Ancelotti becoming 5 times winner he really is the king of this competition with that.
and also he lost one final only think (or more?) vs scousers from 3-0 up at Milan.

Pep probably should have won one at Bayern too, but now it looks hard to catch up to Ancelotti, unless Pep stays like good couple years more at City.

right now the top are Zidane, Pep 3x each and Ancelotti 4x.

also we should have not lost that Chelsea final. still fuming how Tuchel took over mid season from Lampard and turned it into a CL trophy when we were like 20 points above them in the league or more.

Rumours Apple want in on football, also Disney have bought into ESPN, they will want a huge slice of the pie. Apple could blow anyone out the water with a bid, same with Netflix or indeed Amazon. I’m really surprised it’s not already happened.

It was offside anyway, the defenders hand can't play him onside.

Of course the officials should let it go and review it, and I'm sure they would have at the other end under the same circumstances, that's the fair point they're making.

Either way, he was offside. Those that dislike VAR should be happy that the assistant got it bang on.
The thing is though, he was onside. Disgraceful from the officials.

The more fucking US owners we get in the league the more likely it is to be voted through and they say Middle East owners are ruining football,0 watch out for no relegation and promotion in the future

Apple already bought the full broadcast rights to all MLS matches, forcing anyone that wants to watch them to get Apple TV+. Only a select few are broadcast on Fox Sports channels through the year.

I am not sure the PL will ever sell all rights to one streaming services, as that would, in the long-run, create potential limits and dangers to viewership growth and future broadcasting revenue (bidding for a new license period needs to stay competitive for them to maximise income).

But I do think we are already seeing their intention, backed by the majority American ownership in the league, to sell rights to multiple “premier” streaming services that can out-spend now struggling media outlets like Sky (by comparison).

The current frustration of needing to have 3 or 4 different subscriptions to watch every match your team plays are only likely to get worse.
