As much as we deservingly take the piss out of Arsenal, we and them are actually the best teams in Europe this season, but the English energy drain saw us both out, leaving four teams that, if we were at our best, both of us would have smashed.

I think it has been a combination of the fatigue from our treble exploits and the demands of English competitions. Would have been worse if we’d stayed in the League Cup.I think we've been a player or 2 short all season, think that's the reason we were running out of energy and tired.
But that’s not really related to whether they are one of the best teams in Europe this season.Not so sure about Arsenal, they are historically poor in Europe, apart from their 2006 run where they beat Madrid and Juventus, I don't think they have knocked out a top team in Europe ever.
He also seemed genuinely very excited for us when the Final whistle blew in Istanbul. One of the few times it felt like rooting for us as an English team in Europe.I actually really like fletcher. Best of a bad bunch of tv commentators (although not a patch on John Murray who to me is the goat)
Big ask with the level of competition, a kinder route in the CL may have meant a bit more of a chance but to overcome Bayern and Real two seasons in a row was really putting us under huge pressure.I don't know, if there's one team that could do it, it's City.

Madrid made 10 changes on the weekend and still won comfortably. Your right, Madrid were so lucky v us, 2 deflected goals in the first game and us having one of those nights where we were so wasteful in the home game.Yep, all the semi finalists had fuck all to play for domestically, Dortmund and Bayern couldn’t challenge for their league as top 5 is nailed on for next season, Real had virtually wrapped up La Liga when they played us and PSG had an unassailable lead in the French League.
Us and the Tarquins were under the most pressure and we had the added FA Cup semi final to deal with, there's no way we would have repeated last years treble under the run of games we faced.

We were dead on our feet going into extra time due to how much our small squad has played over the last few years.
With the expanded CL and World Club Championship next season i do think we need more quality depth in the squad
